I really don’t get Soma’s PR. They sent this email basically doxxing their customers who set up their bikes in ways that (admittedly) may not be optimal. Opinions of the builds aside, why would you shame your customers this way? Soma masterminds hard at work.

Geeze. It’s not even fun criticism.

The ghost of Evan Baird still leading them astray/making bad decisions?

Some tech start up tracking/social credit systems in China take into account how well you keep your phone charged.

aka Evan Bacon? I’m not aware of his back story. Should I ask? I recall a bunch of years ago there were some shenanigans on the Soma instagram account. Whoever ran it hijacked the Swift campout hashtag for ham fisted commentary on homelessness.

Him and his girlfriend also posted on bike forums about their mission to “save” Bruce Gordon, and when they didn’t get the automatic approval they so clearly expected and craved, turned hilariously nasty.

Well, shit.

Yeah, the spewing they did on ibob was particularly nasty - something about how ibobs were the problem preventing cycling from changing the world, and hoping they all died soon. I got the sense Evan Baird was having a real mental health episode, and maybe his wife was along for the ride. Despite all the bile they were spewing, I hope they got themselves some help, because good god… :flushed:

He and his wife stopped by the office unexpectedly one day for a rally in DC. He had his head on straight and was pretty on par with how I’ve met him in the past. Nice dude.
