Folks apparently don’t want options.
mootor
mootant
A pretty great way to tank the Moots brand and all the marketing/mythology that they’ve spent lots of time building.
If they had launched it under a different sister brand it’d probably be fine and they’d sell just as many of them
see it costs 10k cause it’s made out of carbon fiber so it only weighs 35lbs and I don’t have to peddle it
I guess not this option…
I’d love to make a short sell if that were possible
Is titanium fart huffing still appealing enough that Moots has a future without something like this? Given I’m surprised they made it this long
My guess is they’re gonna do more carbon bikes, they just launched their “MOD” house-brand carbon forks/bars/stems and this e-bike frame is probably from the same factory.
that is a particularly revolting revolt
Apparently Shimano is recalling the bonded cranks
Glad someone else saw that too. The dropped seatstay thing was so 10 years and $10k ago
i think some companies do a good job of it. but your top tube shouldn’t come that close to parallel with your seatstays on a rigid drop bar frame atmo
lol I just assumed it was titanium. Dummies.
from The new Moots Express e-gravel bike is raising some eyebrows – namely, mine - Escape Collective
Whittington purportedly sold all but 20% of Moots to a group of Texas-based investors last year, right at the heart of the COVID-fueled cycling boom.
RIP Moots. Lol someone will snatch up the brandname for pennies on the dollar when the company goes under. Sell at peak, let private equity play, then buy back brand.
same playbook as Parlee…
Parlee was involved in designing this e-bike. We were told about two years ago it would be a thing.
In other cycling news, looks like Mavic NA is attempting another comeback.
Ouch
It hurts and stings
they’re telling me they’re not gonna do another carbon bike, or even another e-bike. i have a hard time believing it personally. for all the hate this bike got i think some moots fans are gonna buy this and be stoked. just not a wise decision to do it this way, I don’t think
