One of my most treasured hobbies is getting mad at friends who order American made stuff from blue lug

If anybody wants to chat bike merch disruption I’d like to do that with my rando club.

I would like to keep it somewhat obscured from most social outlets and I’d probably drop it in the meta thread here. I need some ideas because I don’t have any and I want to find out how to consumerize a bike club with unique goods.

i wanted to upgrade from my 95 rockhopper ultra to a pake c’mute which was basically a crosscheck with a taller headtube, but then i got some big apples and decided it was faster enough.

i’ve grown a lot as a bicycle consumer in the time i’ve been here

Reading this article about the ex cross check and get to this part (emphasis mine):

Durable steel tubes were flanked by major tire clearance, plenty of mounts, and semi-horizontal dropouts that allowed perpetual ditherers to ride their bikes first geared, then as fixed gears, and everywhere in between.

Wait, was this written by a tarcker? Indeed it was. Hi @Alvz

Makes me wonder about all the times.ive read articles that contained phrases that kind of made sense but I didn’t really get. Were they all just inside jokes from obscure forums being snuck in by the author? Or, more likely, I just didn’t get it.

The VW beetle of steel frames.

My CC is from about 2004 and was black. Repainted at least once.
Do I go to hell if my next re-paint is gang green? I always wanted a gang green one.

why in the blue blazes would that make you go to hell?

stolen valor?
Also, will decal sets go extinct? Just one more…
I repeatedly cut off the “Cross C” so it just said “heck.”

There is this funny possibility, given the decals flake off every Surly, that there will both be “fake” Crosschecks and r/xbiking will become nothing but “is this a real Crosscheck”? posts
