I don’t hate the idea… curious to see what the refurb levers retail for.
With Tektro R200 hoods long gone, anything that keeps other replacement hoods in stock seems like a win.

That would be cool if literally anyone else was doing it.
Jan “I don’t have time or money for customer service” Heine? Definitely not someone I’d expect to run the program smoothly.
“send us your high end levers in near perfect cosmetic condition and we’ll send you a consumable plus a discount code” feels kind of smarmy to me
I’d rather see the instructions posted on a nerd forum or the gutting and refinishing service offered for a fee with optional open source robo button grafting
Everyone on eBay rn looking for cheap levers
Lots of nice Campy levers not on that eligibility list. Probably can’t charge RH prices for those. The smart money would be to buy the lower level levers on the used market. Gutting them is not that hard.
Even (functional) Centaur 10 sets were going for $200 last time I looked…so unless they’re crazy thrashed, not sure it’ll have much impact on the used market.
This will probably just get dentists to send off a dusty set from their closets that they’re too lazy to put on eBay themselves.
It really does seem like an ‘Etsy business’ that is only profitable by crowd-sourcing the flea market scrounging.
I mean, I applaud the attempt. It’s the opposite of ‘glossy Specialized concept store’, which is cool.
Share the bike please.
It pleases me that no one got their joke/comment and it got downvoted.
Keep the xbike riffraff out.

Because I’m an unapologetic shit talker.
Jan could redeem himself somewhat tomorrow if he did this
