I built up this one for 2010 SS world’s. Was pretty nice.
state dropped a TA clydesdal. i wonder about the story there
Damn! I guess Crust doesn’t have an exclusive deal with the manufacturer on that design?
Honesty the TA has been my sticking point
Edit/ am I missing the AC on the page?
i’m for that, but i think the slotted drop was pretty key to the crust ethos, which i respect for a bike like that
My moral values are based around old technology because fuck progress amirite
no, you aren’t missing, but a rough logical measurement yields ~420mm (based on a rough measurement of 150px=203mm) it’s more like 480, whoops
a-c doesn’t tell full story with clydesdale though, since the axle is lower with a 20" wheel. IIRC the actual clydesdale is much longer than the ~400 it is supposed to replace. crust doesn’t call it out but i measure it closer to 520 (which makes sense if you are skipping down from 622 or 559 bsd to 406 and hoping to roughly maintain the same head tube position) (take with a grain of salt because my basket makes it difficult to measure)
Correction: i am the stupid- it’s more like 480mm. so not as bad as i thought. clydedale is still about an inch taller
Steerer length is also shorter on the State version which might only matter to the tall folx among us.
And canti mounts and 1” steerer
But this state one has canti mounts? So is it a straight up copy?
Probably same manufacturer
There was one on ALI-X a bit ago. It was about the same $ as from Crust because heavy and oversized. They might have this thru axle one now, I haven’t checked in a while.
Tarcklebee for bicycle photogrammetry.
just as a PSA, this was done with photopea. it’s like photoshop but free and in-browser (though the work is done locally). it’s one dude who runs it and it comes in SO handy. it even has content aware tools!
i whined on his subreddit once about missing the ruler tool on photoshop so he implemented it a day later. i said thanks but the best thing was the logical measurement where you can define x pixels as y units. a day later he implemented that. it’s under the dropper tool
might try this for the next shoops!
Mad all over again looking at this. Like, what dipshit built the bike and was like “ok yeah that’s good” and what other dipshit took the product photos and was like “yes perfect great build”?
bike build itself is crazy too. mismatched tire sidewalls just makes their product look cheap
The whole thing sucks
That bent ass seatpost is perfect for that bike tho.
