@teepz yo did that cross country ski thing break the mythical state guy? He posted one update that sounded shitty and then disappeared for 6mo… the website isn’t even up…
Also, when I shared his posts about it with my ski nerd friends they did say that it was a dumb idea, and that it would suck.
lol no he’s good, just mostly freelancing. There are a bunch of videos from the ski trip on Instagram. Yes it was a dumb idea that would suck but that’s kinda the idea, always has been.
as I’ve ridden bikes less and less, now really only riding for transportation, I have been thinking about how the industry’s segmentation has kinda ruined bike culture
the fact that people argue about whether or not mountain bikers are cyclists or if e-bikes are bicycles is ridiculous. its as ridiculous as getting decision fatigue deciding if I want to ride my low trail offroad randonneuring commuter or my fat tire comfort road bike to go get coffee with my friends.
maybe the global economic collapse will consolidate the industry a bit. can only hope.
this makes a little more sense because of the proliferation of what are effectively electric motorcycles that are ridden as such but sold as bicycles and therefore lack licensing or insurance requirements though… it’s great for urban mobility and getting people out of cars but it’s not helping the perception of cyclists from either side
There is a guy I’ve seen riding on the bike trail on what appears to be a vintage Puch with some kind of e-conversion. Better than a 2-stroke I guess and seems like he rides responsibly enough but still kinda weird as I don’t think he even kept the pedal cranks.
sorrt @Dr_Jart_Attack_PhD but your new title only lasted a few days, designers have continued to redefine expectations for what it means to expel feces accidentally when breaking wind.
‘Social media content that’s intentionally dishonest to farm engagement’ is going to be a historical footnote about the fall of our civilization, I just know it
