Campy Quickshift

So if I get a really good deal on '09 Chorus levers is it worth it to spend the extra on Quickshift derailleurs? They pull the same amount of cable and should work just fine with a mid-'90s FD right?

What would be the advantage of that?

The quickshift feature is only applicable to the front derailleur. Are you running 10 speed? If you are it would be advantageous to get the matching QS FD, they do shift nice.

Yeah, I’m going 10 speed. I was thinking FD would be where I saved a few $$$, but I guess not. Maybe I can make up for it with cheapo calipers.

Any idea where the best bang-for-the-buck is with QS FDs?

I have Tektro calipers on other bikes and I trust them 100%. Just not as sexy as skeleton calipers.

A FD isn’t that fancy of a mechanism, I’m sure you’d be fine with a veloce.

yup, i feel like veloce is at least 105-equivalent.

I’ll get flamed for this but here goes…

Veloce=105
Centaur=Ultegra=Rival
Chorus=Dura Ace=Force
Record=Red
Super Record

…but I do drink Tulio’s kool-aid, in fact I guzzle it.

i have an 08? centaur fd i’ll sell cheap, still in the box…

in your sig pic, are you going uphill or down? and that chick, is that a bruise or birthmark?

I have a big red dot in the same place that’s a scar from numerous low side bails.
