Not sure where this goes. Yves Lampaert cycling home after winning the Belgian National TT.
some guy shoaled me twice today and i passed him both times.
That happens to me like ten times a day every day.
You probably figured something out already, but I just stick my backpack into a big wald 139 basket on the front of my bike and hold it in with a cargo net. I used to carry around a 15" laptop every day like that and it was chill. The backpack doesn’t even have to fit particularly well in the basket, just strap it down a little.
@Emor_please i thought you were a 1 pannier guy too? laptop goes in my one front pannier, in the back, front of it loosely stuffed with clothes. lunch and other nonsense goes in the rando bag
My unhelpful suggestion is to get a crust fork and a big black and yellow bin from Home Depot and throw whatever you want in there with absolute impunity.
Edit: only 1” in stock and the price has gone up $75 since I last checked.
this but spend $200 more and get a whole entire Raleigh Lorry, but do the same trick with the bigass 19 gallon plastic bin. Mine has been ziptied to the rack for two years, the bin bottom is going to crack through before the zipties go, whcih is kinda a miracle.
I kinda feel like the 19 gallon bin is the cargo bike daily rider sweet spot. It’s been a long time since I’ve commuted on anything but my crusty voodoo.
I have a 9/8 crust fork I’m selling but trying not to ship. But would ship for tarck
Paging @Emor_please.
How many of you have put 19 gallons of water into one of those and tried to ride around
where else would I keep my aquarium
Wrong thread?
After doing tonnes of dylan johnson base this year, i invented a new category of cat 6 where you cruise around in zone 2 and then compare your hr with freds on the same strava segment with the same time as you.
I do this on a couple segments but looking at wattage and see that I’m going quite a bit harder than a couple friends because my bike is quite a bit less efficient.
i know HR is heavily variable between people but i like to do this nordic skiing with my fast friends. they do 50k at an HR of like 143, and i get popped off the back after 30k at HR 165+
i think it’s less fun when you’re the one losing, though
i rode most of my commute with an awesome stranger on an 11sp mechanical alfine brompton this morning. small wheel people rule. the fixie kids want to whip skid around my katu and hate when im going fast and the small wheel folks just immediately want to be friends. this feels like a new type of category 6 victory
that’s not cat6, that’s a gran fundo
what is this pannier and why does it look awesome
