Some mamil bullshit.
I have a couple sets, probably jackass toxic masculinity deep down, but surface level its funny as hell.
I have a set but received them as a gag gift.
that’s hot
Squirrel left that one over the plate.
I’d still rock boules lounges mud flaps though
This doesn’t seem like it should be the case, but I just made Minneapolis’ first cross-lake segment in strava.
That’s pretty cool but it’s possible they delete them because they are considered too dangerous.
That’s probably what happens
Pretty sure I had a flawless victory last night.
I was on the last 5 miles of a 40 mile commute day. Heavy (for PNW) rain and a stiff headwind, I was just cruising (Left home at 6:30am was getting home at 8:00pm).
Dude overtakes me coming into a 2 mile straight along our harbor, plastic bike, fancy groupo, backpack and full kit. I tuck in and continue to cruise with about the same effort as before.
Draft him for those 2 miles into the wind and we both make a right to head into west seattle, I go back to cruising pace and expected that to be the end of it.
About a mile later on the other side of a bridge and some industrial fuckery I pop out onto a .5 mile climb and am about 10 seconds behind him all of a sudden (there is a middlingly stiff 3 ramp climb up to the .5 mile steady climb)
I just cruise right up and start chatting, he isnt able to respond coherently, I just keep talking and he starts fading back. I say later and pedal off toward home totally upright on my flat bar basked equipped fat tire ditherer.
Towards the top of the hill It turns slightly and when I was out of view I punched it to the top to ensure a magic vortex level of drop.
To me the best part was how ridiculously I was dressed. Baggy AF rain pants cinched at the ankles, ballooning over waterproof shoes, and an unbuttoned wool shirt, drenched and weakly flapping in the wind.
Did you ask him if you could draft? If not we may need to declare a draw
Atmo if the opponent is kitted out, riding carbon, and pulling steady then it’s fair game to grab a tow.
I do not agree with this at all, you still have to ask
Depends how much of a tow you are grabbing. In a super stiff headwind, riding 5 feet back can make a difference, doesn’t have to be a full on draft. I think that’s acceptable without permission.
Disagree. Anyone close enough to make me think they’re gonna hit me if I have to emergency brake is too close.
I like the ITU rules for drafting. Two second gap, two meters passing breadth.
When I’m riding a more sporty looking bike, bozo faux-racers are always drafting me and doing elbow brushing passes, like we’re lining up for the leadout to decide who’s going to win MSR or some shit. It’s not a good thing to do. On the same routes, same speed, but a clunkier bike, nothing.
Drift over and fuck them up. Physics is on your side.
i hate that shit
I just really like to control as many risk factors as possible and hate the thought of successfully navigating a sudden problem only to be smashed into from behind by some asshole who can’t be fucked to put out a few more watts.
I always keep my distance and pass super wide. I’ve watched dozens of dumbass crashes involving people following or passing too closely and from my vantage point I can always see it coming.
Pretty much this. Although I did have a lapse of reason one time last summer when some cat 6 professional passed me so close we almost touched, that was the one time I can remember when I close-passed someone on purpose. Fuck that guy.
(he even yelled at me for doing it. my dude, you just did the same fucking thing to me)
