^ Your position looks fine and you know it asshole, nice acrobatics though lol.

Doug let me see the first one again but on rollers.

Cameo by my butt for the first 3 seconds!

problem I run into is the more back I go with setback, the less drop I can achieve. My knees are basically hitting my chest after dropping the saddle 2 cm and going back about 2cm

mother of god. Noticed I’m not rolling my pelvis forward. No wonder it felt terrabad.

edit: THIS is what I want to emulate:

but I’d be happy with this

or this guy.

or this for CX

fuckit. Put the Romin back on. Slammed it all the way back on the straight post

dropped seat to 78cm

This looks right. I think this is as close to a pro position as I can get with my current flexibility and core strength. If this were a road bike I’d add deeper drops.

saddle could come down another smidge to 76.5-77.5

probably bring my MTB back to 76.5

Looks pretty good. How does it feel?

went out for a ride. Holy shit, then lower back pain set in and it was bad. REAL bad. Put a hand on my hip (when i dip you dip we dip?) and felt them rocking. Dropped another cm to 76.5-77’ish Magic. My hips naturally rotated forward and I didn’t have to force it anymore.

Also rode the crabon wheels. So many fun whooshey noises.

It feels weird to be so low on the bike and still able to get decent drop. I guess not setting up a cx bike like a TT bike is a good thing.

Lower back pain could be the result of being stretched out more/new position or not. Probably ought to put 20+ miles on it and see.

Me and the snowman are gonna do that tomorrow. I’m now obsessing over the position of my hoods on the new bars. HMMM.

Changing too many variables at once, atmo.

I usually change one thing and give it a couple months unless it is horrible.

DQ: I thought a good CX fit approximates your road cockpit only with a spacer or two under the stem? Cheshire looks really low and is talking about his knees hitting his chest.

milin your hip angle is super sharp in the last one. i dont think many folks can run that kinda angle and remain healthy for long.

I set up my cross bike with the bars 3cm higher, but with a similar reach, for gnarly long ride i was doing today… Was hoping it’d make my back not give me hell for half the right.

Didn’t matter. First climb my back was blowin’ up.

WTF.

I always figured I’d just have to givve in and have my bars kinda high cuz i got some kind of old person back
but seriously… 4cm of drop is all I rode with and i was riding the tops.

I don’t think it’s the handlebar position.

Shit’s just fucked up.

Slam your saddle back is the answer.

Tip of my saddle is about 8cm behind the BB

i stopped doing the slam back saddle. making me use my tfs too much to keep my knees straight.

i dont get back pain

i just get hella it band on one side that throws me all crooked

need to see someone about insoles for my shoe
