yep
shits annoying huh?
that’s why i get the plumb out and stick some tape on my tt anytime i get to moving my saddle or swapping saddle or any shit like that
also there’s a point you hit where a few mm further forward on the saddle and all the sudden it feels like all yr weight is right on yr hands/wrists
yep, im right there, too. i think my saddle is level but it might be a tiny bit nose down.
i always get out the level and make sure my saddle is level
im not OCD about much except that
I can’t ever get it right with a level. I just take a hex key out for a right and adjust it until it’s good, which is usually around 1.5d back.
a couple mm’s?
yall aint stretchin right
I have developed a weird pain I’ve never had before: it feels like the right-side ball joint on my hip is sore. Feels kind of painful getting in or out of chairs, especially bar-height chairs. Went for a 45 mile ride the other day and maybe felt some soreness, but nothing that I would have really noticed if it weren’t for the off the bike pain.
My bike fit has not changed at all and I didn’t have this pain even though I did six 100+ mile rides in the last few months. What I did do is get some new shoes. I might not have the cleat position exactly recreated yet – still adjusting them around slightly. Can this weird pain be caused by slightly wonky cleat position?
I figure it might not even be bike related, but every ache and pain I have is basically bike related.
Get on dat foam roller.
Could be IT band syndrome. What he said about the foam roller.

TarckFit Experts…
Im going to upgrade my road bike game real soon. Id like to know how much different of a fit you think these 2 bikes will be. The first being my current Salsa La Raza that i have 3500 miles on and i think it fits me just fine. The second being the bike im looking to purchase…
Salsa (52cm):
Top Tube: 53.086
Seat Tube: 52.07
Head Tube length 10.16
HT angle 72.5 degrees
ST angle 74 degrees
BB drop 7.112
Chainstay length 40.894
Fork length 37.084
Fork offset 4.572
Wheelbase 97.282
Standover 76.962
Jamis Icon (51cm):
CENTER of BB to TOP of TT 18.38/467
ST ANGLE 73
HEADTUBE 4.72/120
HT ANGLE 72
EFFECTIVE TT LENGTH 20.82/529
FORK RAKE 1.97/50
BB HEIGHT 10.71/272
CHAINSTAY 15.94/405
WHEELBASE 38.11/968
STANDOVER 29.33/745
REACH 14.61/371
STACK 20.35/517
Obviously i can change the stem and seatpost to make it feel good but i dunno. Just wanted some opinions on it. Scott is about the same height as me and he rides the 54cm Icon. I think i like the small frames though. Has always felt good to me but not sure what optimal other than what feels good.
the one degree slacker sta will make the icon top tube feel one cm shorter
so really, yr lookin at running a 2cm longer stem to get the same reach (not taking ht height into consideration)
that’s if you ride the same saddle setback on both bikes…
so if i ran a 120 instead of 100(what it comes with) id get the same length there(reach?)? If so that doesnt sound so bad.
Would Cookietruck get the 52 and lengthen or the 54 and shorten. Maybe i belong on the 54, i dunno, man.
well that depends on where you want your bars and if you want a long stem or medium stem
you sayin you’re riding the salsa with a 100mm stem?
one thing to keep in mind is if the bars end up lower on the icon then that will make the reach a little longer
so maybe you would feel ok with an 11cm stem on the icon in the smaller sizeway…
i’d probably get the 51cm icon and use a -7 or -10 stem on it in 115mm or 120mm
you think that will get you the saddle to bar drop you need/want???
i would get the 54, unless you need the shorter head tube.
your 52 has a 53cm TT, so the 54cm jamis with the slacker seat tube is going to fit closer to your bike, only with a bigger head tube.
so unless standover is an issue (which doesn’t sound like you’re a long armed, short legged dude, if you’re fitting on a 52 with a 100mm stem) or you’re running your stem slammed, 54 would probably fit just fine.
What seat post (31.6 and silver) will give me the most setback?
Or, more specifically, a BUNCH more than I’m getting on a straight Thomson.
Ritchey classic- 25mm setback. FSA metropolis- 20mm setback.

yeah stand over is not an issue. so bigger head tube you just mean taller head tube? So my cockpit will just sit higher up right? I could always lower my stem and or flip if i felt the need it sounds like…

yeah, by bigger I mean taller. so less spacers under the stem. assuming you’re using some spacers right now under your stem. most bikes come stock set up with a few spacers and +6 or +7 degree stem, so unless you flipped it slamt it on the salsa, probably gonna be able to match bar height pretty easily even with a couple more cms of head tube height.
p.s. I just got tagged in this photo
doing a bike fit with my power legs
