Craigslist/ebay/etc finds

I buy a lot from eBay but it’s usually offers on listings

Yeah offers and buy it now are fine ATMO, it’s the auction system that seems busted

I win auctions when I want to. Don’t even use a bid sniper or whatever. Just bid what you’re willing to pay with like 7 seconds left

Oh man, I was on a power meter shopping spree for a while and I had at least one cancelled because the seller “sold it locally”

Admittedly a $50 pm is way too low

It seems like the ebay paradigm now is

Auctions for stuff that’s actually kinda hard to find, no more deals here

Lowball offers on properly-priced oddball but not especially desirable stuff in case they need to move it

Buy It Now for commodity/consumable sort of shit

I still buy rando bike crap on there like cable kits and cassettes, occasional SWRVE shorts as they appear, but I tend to stay away from auctions

Yeah there is one pair of shorts and one pair of shoes that are NLA that I will search ebay for NOS or barely used items and buy them.

Buy It Now I notice that if I look at or “watch” an item after a day or so you’ll get a message of the seller offering x% off or whatever so if you can wait a bit you will get a lower price.

More than anything I use ebay at work like a search engine for stuff like bearings or certain brackets etc. Better than searching amazon or Ali and I can filter by location if I need it to be in the USA.

Also good for helping figure out what something is called if I don’t know the industry trade terminology. Then cross-reference the ebay seller’s actual website or their Amazon store.

This specific bag has “sold” 3 times already.

Yeah, the flakes go both ways, still.

Been watching the price slide down from $600 on this bike.

Looks like a size large Ogre? Would be about an hour of driving round trip which is probably why it isn’t sold. Also maybe stolen-ish? This one has had me confused. I feel like it could be a fun project but I don’t really know why I’d need it

i always thought the ogre rode like absolute pee poop but then again ive yet to see one built up cool.

That is about what I’d expect. Best use-case I can think of is that it would be a decent bike to dump at my in-laws house. Not really sure that is worth the effort but going to be hard to find a “complete” bike for less money even if it’s a bit turdly

Oh yes it would make a fine dust collector and I’m sure some big dumb slick tires and ultrawide bars would make it a fine dickaround bike.

There’s like a 6’4" 300+lb dude at the local bike nonprofit who rides an ogre, and I bet it rides good for him.
