Craigslist/ebay/etc finds

Holy shit this thread is great. Original designer pipes up, dispels some myths, then…there are a couple of real gems. I wish there was more to read, or that someone equally knowledgeable had started more back and forth but it just kinda peters out.

Anybody in the market for a 15,000 pound cast glass lobby desk designed by Frank Gehry?

Would replace my television host in hell desk with this one if our house could support its weight

I was looking at some in situ photos of that desk and it just sat at reception at street level at that building. I feel like if I walked by there and saw somebody sitting at it, I probably would have assumed it was made of plastic or resin or something.

Gehry apparently loved the building that it’s in and was part owner of the thing.

wonder if those are actually 559 road wheels

I suspect 571 (650c). I can’t find anything about Michelin Axial Pro in 559 on the broken remnants of the interwebs.

This is a cool boutique SS I’ve never heard of, comes with separate Paul rear wheel that matches the front.

I’m no mtb bro but would either of these be good bikes in 2026 (maybe with angleset or something)? I think the v2 came in regular and LS versions and the v2 here looks like a LS (haven’t heard back from seller yet). the v3 seems to only come in LS? Comparing geo charts looks like the only difference is 5mm in BB height–v2 has carbon wheels while the v3 has alloys

$300 for a pretty nicely specced deadender litespeed

Iirc the v3 was figuring out some linkage changes? Can’t remember what the deal was.

What kind of riding are you looking to do? I’m iffy on both, maybe slight preference for the v3 if only because the suspension is newer?

Edit: something like this looks like a bunch of fun, would want to see if someone could put eyes on it to see if it’s blown out tho

$400 Calfee on the coast. If this gets cheaper,@Unknown.Gnome should turn this into a basket bike.
