Finally gotthe bike out for commuting. Holy shit is this better than any other option. I need to change the bars, the tape, and get a real front rack and bag setup, or at least cut the pockets off the carradice.

I bought them but I’ve been too lazy to put them on my bike yet. They probably suck compared to Shimano GRX
I was thinking about these things - don’t they use the asymmetric bolt pattern to take two teeth out in between the long span between chainring bolts?
It seems like the bolts of those cranks are closer together in the power section of the stroke since that’s where the support is needed. Since the bolts are what drives the radius, that means that the oval chainrings are geared like 34s in the power phase, and are are 30 teeth in the “dead zone” in between. Or in other words, kind of useless as a lower gear?

Also: get dark colored bolts for the dt cable port and the fork leg mount points, blend them in better

No pedal-strike with the lower BB off-road?
73mm of drop. So pretty manageable with 27.5x2.2. Not a whole lot of rocks where it’s going today.
