Naterodding my winter commuter and summertime randonneuse. I killed a pink needle bearing Token headset over the winter and bought another from Tufo North America. While in there i also got these pink token skewers. They are not at all sturdy and I wish they matched the headset better but I like em! Still waiting on a silver Ritchey post and about to build a new black hubbed wheelset.
What is this chainring situation
It’s an Asian rig to get 46-30 on 110 bcd. It looks funny and bikingreen managed to do it without the funky added spider. But it does work.
where is @naterod anyways
Making rad motion graphics, doing an album cover for Korn, that type of stuff.
doval
i was more interested in an update on his love life and bike situation
This bike came back to me. Gave it to friend 2 years ago and now they’re living in the city they don’t need it anymore
what
that is the PERFECT city bike
their loss, cool bike
How light are they
~1410g. Not crazy light but going from 42c to 30c width the whole kit is only 30g heavier than what I was running which was some titanium hub to super narrow/shallow uber light rims. That wheelset was 1200g but the huge tires full of im sure a ton of sealant tumors was heavy. They spin up way better and feel a lot faster in my 10 miles I have on them.
New wheels go bzzzzz
Most importantly, they look way cooler.
Been thinking about lightbicycle wheels w/I9 hubs for the scott, but not sure on the color to get. I’m almost thinking turquoise? Either those or just get Reynolds or the new Enve Foundation jawns (reynolds & enve would be w/20% discount).
Pros for LB: lighter (100g), better hubs w/fun colors, cheaper ($200), can use whatever tires I want
Pros for Enve/Reynolds: one could say more reputable, lifetime crash warranty, customer service easier to deal with, supporting lbs
One of the biggest cons with the Enves is not being able to use gp5000s.
light bicycle has good customer service. I got on chat with them for a half hour to talk about hub options. They sold me endcaps for my future build at cost and cut me a small discount on the build for being cool. They stock all their stuff for the builds in north america. so when I ordered my custom build it was built and shipped the next day.
Kinda forgot about LB north America. Was surprised your wheels were already on bike, as I was expecting slow shipping and stuff.
yeah I’d recommend hopping on chat and asking what is in stock because I would imagine stocking from China right now has it’s challenges.
Looks great, what’s the frame?
I built it from Columbus Zona and a Niner RLT fork.
