On the PYB vein and saddle to bar drop vein, I don’t regret selling this neck killer.
re: Heath et al
I’m simply not going to apologize for being more comfortable and having more fun on a bike when I’m more upright, and that’s on that.
Lol Heath comparing a road bike to that bike. Thing is set up great atmo. No idea what saddle to bar drop has to do with anything that takes knobby tires.
What are those bars with the long extension on the hook, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Note I am not referring to the shifter

I’m going to guess soma hwy 1
This guy gets me!
Nowhere near the shape/length of the hwy 1. I’m guessing some nitto jawn I’m too lazy to remember or look up.
Ragley Luxy is kinda like that side profile but very flared. Maybe we’re being tricked by camera angle?
Yeah but you don’t to a helluva lot of off road riding on that thing if I’m not mistaken.
Some. I’m quite fond of hitting technical stuff in the drops.
Relax guys, I’m faux shaming you. Do what makes you comfortable.
I like an inordinate amount of saddle to bar drop for an old fat guy, probably something about my anatomy and my penchant for suffering. I also don’t like to be especially comfortable on a bike.
As for MTB, I’ve never really don’t much of it, but I still like a little saddle to bar drop.
You and Orc are definitely waaaay over on one side of a bell curve for saddle to bar drop for folks with greying hair.
I would argue that if better braking [Edit:]in the steeps[/Edit] is the goal, the rider would be better suited with flat bars. The only reason MTBs had drop bars in the first place were for aaro gainz.
Even the Drop Bar all the Things! crew around here is finally figuring out that a MTB is better suited for trails.

Why does it matter what other people do with their bikes?
Because we have a team of experts…
I’m loving the gravel bikes with flat bars thing.
Basically a hybrid with nice parts. If that’s what it took, I’m all for it.
This is basically how in would justify the @BicyclePears mess of a bike if I didn’t have to buy a complete set of new parts for it.
It’s important to use one person’s singular experience to discredit the merits of other people’s preferences.
And barends!
