What I am trying to communicate is that from our perspective, your teasing came off as odd rather than teasing.

I like an inordinate amount of saddle to bar drop for an old fat guy, probably something about my anatomy and my penchant for suffering. I also don’t like to be especially comfortable on a bike.

Considering Rapha with their “white men SUFFERING in lycra on a 30 degree day” aesthetic gained enough cachet to be bought by Walmart, I would say that there is nothing out of the ordinary about your perspective. It is Walmart-level popular. It is “THE RULES” popular. We know all about it!

My penchant for suffering came before the Rapha bullshit, but your point is valid. Honestly, I enjoy the kind of cycling that I do because I’m a bit of a masochist and I like to challenge myself to see what I can endure. I’ll also readily admit that’s fucking weird and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Y’all do you. Ride what you like however you like. Tarck is about being friends.
