Dammit: Post your bike

That looks great Patch! Are you still doing hella KMs and big ole randos? is this a new bike? Do you still have the speedvagon? Do you have a dad bike tho?

Yeah, show us the dadbike!

The PNW Tarck consensus is: if you’re bros with the PDW guys, they’re fine, but if you’re paying retail, Velo-Orange.

I am nearly obsessed with the idea of a pull along trailer eg. Burley with a big ol’ trunk for extra storage for hauling Junior and a full camp suite. No obsessed enough to do any design past the initial idea.

I also think Thule should start adding pannier rails on their offspring trailers… maybe on the back.

I’m still working out how to put bigger fenders on a CX bike for winter snow clearance. The Focus has been a great success otherwise, so figuring out fenders should be the priority next fall.

Didn’t pay MSRP but yeah… definitely should have stuck to the eurofenders.

Holy shit, Todd‽ Still doin’ the KMs. Nothing too crazy last year with 12000 in total, but the plan is to The Length of Sweden again (2100km in a week). Hopefully a whole lot less painful this time.

The Speedvagen lives but barely. I’ll probably update in the dithering thread WRT that one.

I’ll post the dadbike soon.

Yeah dude! I just jumped back on here I have a MEd and a 7 month old baby now.

Please turn the speedvagon into a SS basket bike, maybe even with 800mm carbon downhill bars.

The basket bike was a consideration but I don’t have the heart. I’ll probably do a new professional paint job… thinking grey hammerite. Finish it off with Chorus 11 Speed and some nice light wheels.

What is a MEd? Congrats on the bb!

Small refresh. Replaced the perfectly good Ritchey stem with a Zipp that matches the seat post.

And Garmin Vector 3 pedals with a 1030 Plus. All to see that my ftp is a good 30% off peak. Sucks to be old, fat and have had cancer several times. Chemo is the worst.

Was a little unsure of the graphs, but at least for power, it seems useful for targeting consistency.

The D’lite has pretty good cargo space back there behind the seat. Maybe two ortliebs worth.

Does it fit sideways?

Does it fit upside down?

It’s too big in every dimension.

No, I want the whole bike to telescope!

If you do as I once did and read through about thirteen years of the LFGSS cargo bike thread, you’ll see a classic tragedy arc of the Fate of the Omnium. It starts with a ton of hype! A cool Danish messenger dude is building a bike (that rips off a Bilenky design)! Oh shit advance orders are happening! I Got one! it rules! Huh, seems like it puts the cargo mass kinda high and forward? But still, so much faster than a Bullitt! Hmmm okay now its five years later and I have a baby and I want to carry that baby on my cargo bike, a bike designed for carrying things. This seems a little sketchy, but you can get a seat locked into the platform. Oh well, I’m convinced that it works pretty well, so shrug.

Meanwhile everyone who bought a Bullitt seems happy with it, and people who bought not-Bullitt longjohns seem perenially cranky about design flaws.
