I love this bike
I love both of those bikes a lot.
The gloves come off.
no i need gloves. my hands are clammy and will slip off the bars and i will die.
I love this bike. How did you do that to the stem? I that hammertone?
I love how the front brake cable enters the stem, only to exit 3 inches later. Hope you have enough slack to open the front brake by pulling the straddle off the hanger
The stem is from an old GT mtb of the same design. The owner needed a removable face plate for VO klunker bars and couldnāt use it. Heartbreaking.
I imagine the wiser thing to do would have been to use a headset mounted hanger but the stem butthole was too tempting.
Post canāt be empty
I love you got ride of dumbSRAM, has real chainrings and the Enveās look so proper.
So apparently this frame is for sale and hanging on the wall at the shop this guy works at.
He only paid the deposit, the cost of paint and the cost of the fork. I let him off the hook for the balance on the frame.
Itās reasonable to want it back so I can sell it someone myself right? Anyone interested in a 51cm steel road di2 disc frame with aethos fork and custom machined headset?
What were the terms that you let him off the hook for the balance for? Is he selling for more than he paid you for it?
Just got my DBR back. Lady I gave it to got an ebike. I just remembered I did the 96 worlds on it. Itās in surprisingly good nick. I donāt really need it. Already got 2 26ers. A fully and a hardtail. The geo is alright tho.
No terms, I just said hey if youāre not happy donāt worry about the balance. I really didnāt want it to be a thing.
No idea how much heās asking for the frameset but I would assume itās a lot more than what he has into it. Paint and deposit was like $500. He got the fork at wholesale since he was working at spesh dealer.
Iām not one for confrontation so maybe Iāll just forget about it.
I suck at this too. I need to do an assertiveness course or something.
Tell him he has to make you a frame now
if you need me to confront Iāll handle it
Tarck LLC is nothing if not deep in the bench for all your needs.
speaking of framebuilder specials, Hahn Rossman dressed up this frameset years ago as a prototype for Raleigh, based on an old Tamland frame but with a new low trail fork using his early SON connectorless dropouts and integrated Bruce Gordon racks. It had been one of his shop bikes, I got it from him after heād stripped it for parts and was cleaning up.
The XTR 9s M966 STI Dual Control Rapid Rise drivetrain came from @jimmythefly, took a couple tries to settle on a XTR M950 8s front derailleur, and the chainrings are also vintage XTR 8 speed on 184mm Rivendell cranks
The SON SL QR disc hub came from @drwelby who had hoarded it when Canyon was dumping their spare parts for cheap, and the rear tire was free from @halbritt
The upright fit ends up being really similar to a Jump bike which I was hoping for, though it would be nice to find some similar bars in aluminum without the brace
If you remember how Peter Weigle was turning Vietnam-war Raleigh road bikes into contructeur Randonneur builds, this is effectively the same idea but with an Iraq2-era Raleigh gravel bike becoming a sick townie
