I remember making fun of that picture a decade ago or whatever and I just want to say that I was wrong.
yeah that’s not even an e-bike; that mom is sporting watts
also love the shit head middle school boys in the big box while the kid with the laundry basket is chilling without having a handle or anything.
I do worry for the little one all the way in the back.
I wonder if all seven children are hers.
I wonder if the kids on the towed bike got catapulted approx 1 second after this photo was taken
Wow! She’s quite impressive!
I wonder what that family is up to now, 11 years later.
she has a twitter that I cant see as well.
Oh no!
This has been a real emotional rollercoaster!
I honestly have no idea how someone has more than two kids.
….
can someone with twitter search her up?
hasn’t been on since 2014 looks like she was building a replacement from parts
I just hope she’s not an antivax homeschool weirdo like it seems like so many moms of large numbers of kids are.
You just need to buy the second Bullitt
Ash is gonna get a Madsen.
Alrighty, I’m in the rabbit hole:
56cm square (@jimmythefly for real this time lmao) Reynolds 653 Colian by Colin and Ian Laing out of Arizona. Looks like Tange rear dropouts.
How do I date the 80s/90s Campy stuff? Brakes, shifters, and RD.
Also came with Sachs New Success FD and hubs, laced to Mavic Reflex clinchers. American Classic 27.0 post, 3TTT bars and stem, Deore LX headset (??). Kooka is not cracked!
Serial number is either 8909 or 6068 - the latter puts this at ~1990-91, gleaned from son Stuart Laing’s posts at Bikeforums.
So fucking happy to have a bike again. Last two weeks have been rough on my brain.
paint is beautiful, are you planning to ride it as is (minus ergos) or rebuild with modern group and wheels?
Going to take care of the rust spots first. Paint looks cool from afar but pretty sure it’s a spraycan job. Reminds me of the plastic net packaging that came around the WI hubs when I worked at Rolf. Really chunky around the lugs.
Maybe some 2010s Chorus and DT/A23s are in my future.
