Dammit: Post your bike

Why would you ever put a few thousand miles on a bike?

If I was going to visit out east, how else would I get there?

frankly a train would have been my suspicion for you

Well, there’s the teeny detail of the people who live in the states between here and the east coast that worries me; If I go north a few hundred miles, then east, it means that the crazies aren’t home-grown crazies (even though a significant fraction of Alberta wants to be part of the USA.)

Nah, if I’m gonna hop in the wayback machine and take a train in the 1950s, it’s gonna have to be electric:

Finally got my wife’s fat bike built up. It’s a size medium Suzi Q that I managed to find for a song just a few hours from my house. I originally got it for me to replace my REEB but she fell in love with it and I fell back in love with my REEB so I set it up for her.

She’s a few inches shorter than me so we cut the 175mm cranks down to 153ish. Then we added a super stubby Spank stem. Now it fits very similar to her small Transition Spur. And it’s sick. I just gotta add a dropper.

Now I just gotta get my REEB finished up before the real snow flies.

like drilled new holes and tapped them?

Yes

The Aeffect 175s are choppable. The other RF models have relief pockets in the way.

I considered that with my altitude powerplay because 170 is just ridiculous. But not ready to drop $450 on north shore billet jawns. Luckily, I know that RF is going to be making 160mm turbines real soon, so I’ll probably swoop some of those if I can match (or otherwise replace) spindle length.

And the silver rims on that look so good. Glad to see silver rims are making a small comeback in MTB.

Oops spent all my money in two new bikes last week.

I left the pie plate on for you guys as little dessert.

I know, but i also feel like it needs a bit of complimentary colors. Or maybe some silver accents.

Both bikes have great paint jobs though. Very sparkly.

That’s a good tip about 160mm Turbines, I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Myself and friends run the Goldix kids cranks from Ali Express and as long as you add a NDS spacer they’re great for 73mm BB shells. I’m not sure how that would work with your eeb tho.

And yeah I had to go like 7 pages deep into Google to find these but they’re so steezy it was worth it.

was special care needed to drill the new pedal holes on-axis?

I do it on my lathe and align it initially by grabbing that pedal extender in the chuck

An inspiration.

Is that an Atlas/Craftsman 618? Pretty sure mine looks exactly the same but I haven’t used it yet.

My dad shortened the cranks on my mom’s (basic hybrid) just using a drill press, I think he just used a square to get it aligned with the spindle.

Atlas 10200 6x24

I’m sure you can get it “close enough” on a drill press. With the Hollowtech type cranks the spindle can get in the way if you’re doing it on something like a milling machine.
