I felt that in my bones

I put some XC Pros with PowerGrips on because eff a rat trap.
It rides… perfect? The whole system works flawlessly: the bars, the grips, the 3x7, the 26” wheels. I want to say maybe fatter tires because I feel like I’m leaving money on the table ride-quality-wise, but even the Tom Slicks just feel right. It can take like 1.9, maybe 2.0 max. Tire suggestions welcome.
The original catalog for it said it could fit a 1.9 knobby. You might be able to pull off a 2.1 Tioga Powerblock.
I put a 2.1 I had around on and it was pretty pretty close. Like, too close for comfort.
I had one of those back in the day. Great commuter.
Put Noodles on yesterday. I like the shape a lot but these in 44cm feel way too wide at the hoods.
Also put on silver R7000 calipers because old single pivots suck. Didn’t use them today though.
Are you a very tall person?
I’m a tall person but not a very tall person.
Seat tube on that bike is 615mm center to center, but the head tube is 212mm. That frame looks way bigger than it actually is.
I love dicking with my quick change cable system. Did a mad dance on my commute this morning when a bee stung me in the ear. I would have paid good money to see what it looked like. Helmet and glasses went flying. Gonna ride this in the retro class of the Karapoti classic in a few weeks time so will have to take off the fork, the carbon bars and the spds. Im not sure if I trust these wheels in a single loop 4 hour race so may put on something with more spokes.
Guyshoin the NFE. New Boken Plus and new AliExpress hoods. Can recommend the hoods, they fit better and feel nicer than the stock ones. Tyres feel alright so far, not as smoothly supple as Hetres but just as fast and more confidence-inspiring on shitty roads.
Full fenders and carbon wheels look good together
My sram knock-off Ali hoods are really good too.
Maybe should have kept that one in the ol’ noggin
Oh well, happy Valentine’s day
I wanna see the punnett square for these two. Finally we can figure out if these clip on fenders are a dominant or recessive trait.

Picked this up for my son. Looked like a decent gravel/commuter situation. Unknown frame, carbon fork and seatpost, friction shifters… It’ll fit in with my other frankin bikes.
Mom, can we have a RoadUno?
We have a RoadUno at home.
RoadUno at home:
Built this because I got bored. Everything was from my parts bin, the only thing I bought was a brake cable.
Wheels are very French. Pelissier track hubs, Rigida rims, and 15/16g butted spokes. Brakes and shifting are Shimano/Dia-Compe.
Only pedaled it around for 2 or 3 minutes. The chain tries to climb off the freewheel when I’m in the small ring but I don’t care enough to fix that right now. Honestly it will probably just get turned in to a singlespeed but this was entertaining to build.
