Yep, that’s the one. The hubs are just a slight bummer because that means 6-bolt rotors instead of CL like the Quick Haul or some of my other bikes. Not a huge deal, I guess. The brakes feel fine so far but damn those levers do really have all that plastic. Plastic pedals as well unlike some of their other folding non-e-bikes. Parts spec otherwise is pretty good for me since it already has my preferred speeds/cassette size. Brakes may get replaced instead of serviced since all my other wet bikes have Shimano and I’m not sure I want to invest in the tools/fluid just for one bike.
And front cargo only means you’re limited to carrying 15 lbs of whatever.
A higher weight rating would be pretty great for this bike. I’d been looking at the Vektron since last fall. It was really only its lower weight rating that prevented me from buying it earlier (and maybe instead of the Quick Haul). My current mass plus bike mass only leaves about 10 lbs of capacity for accessories/load, not really even enough for a weekly grocery run.
yeah it’s a little unusual because it offers kid hauling capability in a folder unlike a Brompton, but compromises on the capabilities vs other Terns. I’ve been watching upway ES for a NBD because that seems like the best small format cargo option
Sometimes it is just nice to take one of the old classics out and putz around the town.
It also happens to be really easy to go fast as hell on this thing.
Roli always complains of bumps when riding in the Madsen with the 20” rear wheel but never when in the Bullitt with the 20” front wheel.
I can’t figure out why one is so much bumpier other than the pilot of the Madsen not being as good at spotting and dodging bumps as the pilot of the Bullitt is.
does Roli sit closer to the wheel in the Madsen, like how the kid sitting over the wheels of the school bus has a bumpier ride than a kid in the middle rows?
