DEALS DEALS DEALS

Similarly, DIY Gear Supply is going out of business and has everything super cheap. I’ve been trying to figure out how much I need for a few projects before pulling the trigger…

@Orc cheap durable tubeless 650b rim brake wheelsets!

these Alex Adventurer 2 rims were OEM-only for 650b, and came stock on some dumber Surly models

they also have cliffhangers but unmachined

These are what inspired me to ask about Velomine a week or so ago. They have 650b Dyads too, but only with non-disc hubs.

it’s a legit operation, mostly bulk-building wheels out of things they get deals on

like https://bikeisland.com/ except with legitimate grey market clearance parts instead of bikesdirect castoffs

Are these still vapourware for rim only? If I ever need to replace a rim on the rawland I would like to be able to get ahold of these

Hah, they were gone before I even saw this message.

let me get one rim?

Oh man, I was like ‘I should probably buy a pair of those just to hoard’.

It’s weird that they disappeared off the site. Normally he just marks stuff Sold Out. I see he’s got a set of 28h 700c Adventure 2s up still… @Mankato_Pet_Cremation_LLC did you actually get a pair of the 650bs?

I’ve spoken to him on the phone before about endcaps for some stupid cheap wheels. If anyone is really hunting these beautiful round unicorns, I’d recommend just calling him up.

I hope so. The order processed.

Edit: I didn’t. They’re sold out

does Velomine have a wheel building machine or a team of bike elves who are really good at building wheels? They prob have a spoke cutter and maybe they own their building and it’s super sustainable or something. They can’t possibly be making much money building and selling these–I’ve always been quoted $60/wheel and that was a few years back.

Pretty sure the velomines is related to Junk And Bargains, and most of their wheel builds are machine built, hence the the affordable pre-built wheelset prices. They are legit and technically a brick and mortar shop, but really just a warehouse in Springfield IL.

And now they’re holding my money hostage and offering me products that I don’t need in exchange. Just give me my money back, dudes

Same thing happened to me a while back. I had to open a dispute with PayPal, but that spurred them into action.

Currently in this with another bunch of bike part clowns. Feels bad.

I am curious how that even happens. Though I guess it would happen more easily with Paypal since they have to take your money. With credit cards, they should NOT be taking your money until they ship the item. Anyone who does otherwise is being scuzzy.
