Did you just ShartQ?

What about the olive/barb/bolt/or banjo to connect it to brakes? Inner and outer seem to be equally important there.

I’ve just used the hose that comes with the brakes. Never fancied going down swapping hoses for ā€œperformanceā€ or looks.

The standard shimano ones that has come with my sub-deore, Deore and XT’s has always performed well. I just don’t get down with the one time use olive/barb solution that they have going on. Love the Hope stuff for that, easy to re-use time after time if you ever need to shorten or swap hoses.

I think there’s really only one brand that brings any performance claims to the table and might have some truth to it are Goodridge and they only dabble in hoses for motorsports, mc, cross and biking… So for for that if you wanna ball out.

Where/how do I mount a Dynamo light I haven’t yet bought?

In my experience the newer ā€œroadā€ hose has worse modulation but makes the lever feel stiffer, compared to the hose that was being used on most Shimano hydros and the first road hydro setups. I think there are currently only 2 types of Shimano hoses, BH90 and BH59, but some of those may have different fittings?

Here’s some ultimately confusing conversation:

Helpful except I’m not sure where they get their info:

switch to the Wald adjustable struts, mount through the bonus holes in that

Buy a hanging lamp (IQ-X, antiDelux) and hang it from the bottom of the basket?

or drill-out the top of a cheap/cracked B&M Cyo light
dangles under a basket nicely

someone gimme your old light

Dude lights are like $30

Have @orc add a light tab to the rack he’s going to build you to mount the basket to.

please direct me to $30 B+M light

@orc please custom build me a wald basket

xxcycle. If you’re not looking for agility in the mountains, there are a small handful of B&M lights in the 15-30 light unit range that are under $30. And, sure, I’ll build you a wald basket – $100 plus shipping or you could just use the one you’ve got :-)

@JUGE_FREDD is correct, adjustable struts improve everything about it- but you can also probably just drill a hole in that strut for now and probably not die from a strut cave in

I can’t find a picture of my old setup, but it was basically two flat pieces of steel that fit between the bars of the basket as washers with a through bolt to a disc adapter or rack strut or something to mount the light to.

Replacing bent saddle and seat post with new saddle and dropper.

Only one set of water bottle mounts on frame, been carrying second bottle on some of those Specialized seat post clamps.

Obviously that won’t work with dropper.

Where/how to mount second bottle??

That’s honestly why I have a hydration pack. Full squish bikes rarely have space for a second bottle. For me, a long day out usually requires 3 liters of water.

A lot of the riders around here carry a second bottle in a waist pack. If I’m out on a long gravel ride, I’ll tuck an extra bottle in a jersey pocket.

I’ve toyed with the idea of strapping a cage on top of the top tube, esp for bikes with lower standover

I mean you basically have to strap something on right? Why not just another side entry cage higher up the DT?

Didn’t see the current one is already a sideloader. This move first

Hmm, well that just makes sense. I wonder if a B-RAD would work well for that
