though if you have 50mm mounts, just buy the right light:
$15 and ships from FoCo too

If you are already ordering from Europe and getting a Tubus rack I would just get the Toplight Line shartmo
That looks nice!
Though yeah, if the rack is coming from Germany thereās plenty of rack lights to add to the order for the same $$
Itās coming from Ortlieb USA after all
Iām gonna check the local cargo bike store and see if they sell dynamo stuff
Then snag something on eBay if they donāt
Making a bracket would be fun and I like keeping the parts bin small, but I have enough projects right now
this has been covered but iām feeling lazy and one search didnāt cut it.
does a sram mtb left shifter shift a sram yaw pusher?
Is there a good reason why I shouldnāt run a pair of regular cranksets on a tandem with the timing chain on the drive side and 1x in the back? Currently on 170 arms and I wanna go 175 via parts bin.
You might have to space the rings out to clear two chains or run a narrower one but Iāve done it before
Iāve got a bag of 20 .6mm chainring spacers you are welcome to. Iād imagine youād probably want fewer and thicker, but there it is.

Iām running a 42t driving ring on the inside and 38t timing rings on the outside with no interference. 11x46 in the back.
Why is the timing chain usually on the other side? just a matter of balance?
so the bike doesnāt turn right like a canoe when youāre both hammering
what a majestic velocipede
Because they already had 3 rings on the drive side powering the rear wheel. 4 might have been too much.
Iāll give it a go, pretty sure I can fit two 8s chains next to each other without interference. If one of them is 10 or 11s Iāll have even more room.
if it doesnt work, iām pretty sure the captain cranks of this crankset iāve been trying to get rid of are 175s. itād be a task to dig them out, but let me know. Also the cranks on the guest tandem might be 175 as well. we could swap.
Ooops, I lied, I do have 2.5mm chainring spacers moving the inside ring inwards. But it seems like I have more than that between the chains, so maybe that was some preemptive engineering. Iām running a 10spd drive chain and 8 speed timing.
edited for accuracy
Iād love to know what the wheelbase is. it looks at least a foot longer than ours.
About 75"

The local cargo bike shop does not stock dynamo lights, but they directed me to the local folding bike shop, which does. V stoked to check out the folding bike and dynamo light shop.
