Dynamo help

so search b4 u post bro

Save up and get the Cyo.

Removed.

Yo dynobros. How do you connect 2 headlights to your hub?
Just put all four wires through the wire carrier holes?
Or wire the second one off the connections for a wired tail light on the first one?

I think it depends on the light but this Peter White page makes it sound like you can combine them both into the hub.

Maybe I’ll just try it and see if it works.

I’d try at the hub, or along the wires before they make it to the headlight. The outputs for the taillight on the headlight might send out less juice, but this is a total guess.

The taillight outputs just share the headlight’s switch (except for Supernova).

buuump.

Is IQ Cyo N from Starbike still tarckbear’s one true Truth?

There’s another I think

Isn’t Tarck’s One True Truth “You’re doing that wrong”?

Sort of what Mick just said.

there are situations where i want more than what my cyo can give. those are few and far in between, but if you’re going to be doing any real distance riding where situations can get unpredictable, and have the cash i’d wait for the iq2.
the cyo is pretty awesome 95% of the time.

is the Iq2 the one with the USB port and bigger badder light?

and when is availability on that?

yeah, it is.
and it looks like november-december

i dig mine hard.

fyi xxcycle might have a better price if just getting one shipped- i think starbike has high shipping charges that only make sense if ordering a bunch of stuff…

Lengthy review & photos of B&M Lumotec IQ2 Luxos U for the dynamo light nerds: http://yacf.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=63183.msg1416745#msg1416745

I somehow missed this little tidbit in the pre-release spec sheet:

I think this might be utilizing the same chip technology that exists in the rear Toplight Line with braketec. The whole sensing speed through dynamo frequency makes my pants tight.

Getting very excited for them to catch up on backorders of the “U” version

Does it increase lux or actually change the beam angle with increased frequency?

Not completely sure, from the brochure:
. Using a prism, the light yield and efficiency are raised
decisively. Additional LEDs combined with an electronic control system make
“dynamic light” possible, perfectly adjusted to the individual riding situation.
A dynamo powered headlight thus creates a field of light, larger by a wide
margin and more homogenous than ever. The world’s first headlight with
IQ2 technology is called LUXOS
