Told all of ya’ll so.
Dang. Ima buy one.
Looks like the Cyo got a bit of a Luxos type upgrade
Lumotec Eyc
http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/b&m-hl.asp

seems like it might be an affordable way to get Luxos optics without all the bells and whistles
I bet it is a good remedy for the switch rattle in my Cyo, clakity clack drives me bonkers when the light isn’t engaged
He says not as bright as the Cyo and has a narrower beam
I haven’t seen anything about it except from the cantankerous motherfucker, I don’t think it was shown at Eurobike even. Doubt it’ll show up before next spring.
Hopefully the pricing is more in line with it being a Lyt replacement (which uses optics from the Lumotec era that started pre-LED).
90 lux (sustained at high speeds?), 139 Euros. Add 10 euros for pink ano. “Available” Nov 2013.
Oh snap, in ORANGE too! Might need for Orange Elephant build.

That would make more sense, I always forget Peter White pricing ≠ shipped from euro pricing
I’ve known about the Edelux II for a while but have been waiting for some corroboration about it, Schmidt still hasn’t published anything and they didn’t show it at Eurobike (just the QR15 SON28)
The reflector is a bit of a mystery — it’ll be interesting to see if it’s the one from the Eyc, or if the Cyo will be improved, or if they got B&M to make one exclusively for them.
Their standlights have always been mediocre, though in the last year or so they finally fixed them so the switch actually turns the light off (instead of just cutting the input)
I knew they shared optics but I didn’t realize that B&M did the manufacturing and had design control. I always just assumed it was a random third party.
Apparently they did, you can see the poster
From their news page:
Ah sweet it just wasn’t on their english-language site, always weird when something is released in tradeshow season but you can’t find jack shit for coverage from the tradeshow itself. Fucking bloggers.
Rad that they’re releasing a 135mm hub, SP’s approach is to use an adapter with their QR15 hub
dunno how much power you’re gonna develop at fatbike speeds though — you’d need a circuit to overdrive it at lower efficiency, or have a dynamo built with more poles
something else I’ve been looking at recently is next gen taillights

http://www.bumm.de/produkte/dynamo-ruecklicht/secula.html
has the fresnel lens tech in a non-rackmount form factor, and the references to “parking light” suggest that it has a momentary “off button” like the awesome Line Plus does
haven’t seen any corroboration of that or beam shots, but it should still easily be the best fender taillight regardless
also of interest is a new rackmount taillight much like the Phillips but in a smaller size: http://www.bherrmans.fi/REARLEDLIGHTH-TRACKDYNAMO.html
Oooh I have a pixeo on the splatterbiek fender (battery), this looks like a perfect fender dyno light to replace it. The seculite really is meh.
Kinda love that schutzblech = fender.
Edit: The toplight says " rückseitiger Schalter zum manuellen Deaktivieren des Standlichts" to switch off the standlight (parking light), no mention of this on the Secula. Wait and see.
You two learned to read Kraut just so you could read up on dynamo lights, hunh.
eDelux looks rad - coloring, promised output, and price point is pretty neat.
I’m not suggesting EII is better, just noting that it’s coming.
derp - hugs
Sandwich?
I’ll take one off your ever growing debt. You owe me like 3 now. Instead of 4.
[quote=krautforum]Uff…

http://www.bumm.de/news/detail/article/iq-tec-premium-mit-grossflaechen-lichtfeld.html
There’s now going to be ‘premium’ versions:
http://www.starbike.com/en/busch-and-mueller-lumotec-iq-cyo/
http://www.starbike.com/en/busch-and-mueller-ixon-iq/
http://www.starbike.com/en/busch-and-mueller-lumotec-iq-fly/
The Cyo has the same price point as before, DRLs still optional, and the originals are discounted. Thankfully Starbike cleaned up the descriptions so you can tell which is which now that there are 14 goddamn models
Also I think I figured out the Eyc, it’s not replacing a previous model, it’s their attempt at out-styling the Edelux through sheer tininess

There’s also a lithium battery / USB version: http://www.starbike.com/en/busch-and-mueller-ixon-core/
