Dynamo help

This light isn’t a lightweight though, die cast zinc housing. You could beat Heiney into unconsciousness with it.

^^^ This guy gets me.

Yeah battery life on low is pretty great, and even on low it’s like 12x brighter than most other lights.

what’s the current state of best dynamos?

pv8 + ???

also, what is the current state of “works fine and 50% cheaper”

Surely best light/drag/weight per buck is shutter precision plus the upcoming premium cyo.

I lolled

also yeah, PV8 or PD8

Scott’s right.
something else I’ve been looking at recently is next gen taillights

has the fresnel lens tech in a non-rackmount form factor, and the references to “parking light” suggest that it has a momentary “off button” like the awesome Line Plus does
Mine just arrived in the mail today from XX Cycle. About $40 shipped to CA. It’s much brighter than the Toplight Line Plus that has been on my bike, although the LineTec (dispersed light through the Fresnel lens) is questionably better on the Topline. More photos and blog post soon.

sweet, looking forward to it

interested to know if there’s an off button / what the standlight behavior is
interested to know if there’s an off button / what the standlight behavior is
The standlight is good, I would guess 25-30% full brightness and it lasts for several minutes after fully charging up. I don’t see or feel any buttons on it anywhere for the parklight feature.

Any chance the Edelux 2 is going to be Luxos innards in fancy case?

it is Cyo Premium innards in a fancy case

also much wider spread, and might actually be better for road use than the Luxos

should be the new best all-around buy when it comes out (this month?): Busch & Müller Cyo Premium Front light IQ-Tec P 80 lux - 1752QSNDi-04

so it cuts to zero after a few minutes of standstill?

I prefer that behavior to it just dwindling slowly for 15 minutes while people come up to say that you left your light on

Tarckpact: post a message when this comes in stock. Got my DH-3N80 hub today for supwifemobile…

Cyo Premium in stock.

I wonder if there are any Cyo Premiums available without neckbeard daylight running lights?

Not in North America. Do you hate them?

I don’t think they’re very attractive – the xxcycle link shows one that doesn’t have the neckbeard, but when I looked closely it looked like it was labelled as a regular Cyo+. If there was a European-only non-neckbearded Cyo, I’d just buy it from xxcycle (or starbike) as I always do, but it’d be annoying to buy one sight unseen and get a neckbeard that I’d then have to shave off.
