that’ll teach you for existing. serves you right.
I just sort of assume that people in extravagant cars are all psychos.
I forget if I heard it on here or if it was somewhere else, but a semi-quote I’ll never forget is “If someone is driving a car that costs my yearly salary, I assume that they have different priorities and they’re not looking out for you”
Or something.
Regarding that mercedes guy with the small penis, I’d probably have given him a taste of Philadelphia, and it wouldn’t be good for either of us ![]()
that’s a bad one.
Had a pretty awful interaction the other day. I was waiting at a stoplight to turn left onto a busy street, so I was full in the lane. Riding out of a parking lot for an office building.
I’m there, waiting, and hear a car pull up behind me. Then, engine revving. I turn and look: a middle aged white guy, affluent, with a wife clutching a dog. In a very, very nice Mercedes. He’s looking at me. I glance for a moment then turn back to wait for the light.
The revving continues, gets louder and more aggressive. I resist looking back again. It gets more insistent and so I turn.
This guy looks me in the eye, flips me off, and says, “fuck you, you piece of shit cyclist. Get the fuck out of my way.” I am waiting at a red light and tell him so. He then flips me off with both hands and tells me to get off the road because I’m a piece of shit cyclist. His wife doesn’t look at me.
Again I tell him I’m waiting for a light, just trying to get somewhere. He continues his angry tirade.
I tell him he’s a huge asshole. I look at his wife – “why are you married to this guy? He’s an asshole!” She looks away.
He continues to scream, yell, tells me to fuck off, flips me off, revs his engine. The light is still red.
I tell him to just fucking leave me alone. He doesn’t.
The light turns green and he slams the gas, passes me with an inch to spare. I scream through his window, “eat shit and fucking die, you piece of shit!” He peels out, his V8 Mercedes accelerates through the intersection. For less than a second. He slams the brakes because the traffic is at a standstill in the other side of the intersection.
I turn left and ride away.
The depth of hatred this guy has for me was pretty chilling.
When I come across someone like that* I usually think how horribly he must have fucked up his life that he is being such a psychotic asshole over nothing. He must be a boiling vat of frustrations to arrive to a point where he screams at someone for waiting at a red light in front of him. That thought always helps me shrug and move on instead of getting upset that an asshole shouted at me.
- I don’t think any of the psychotic assholes I met so far in my life have reached this guy’s level.
I’ve only been calm enough to do this once but the most effective thing to say is something like this.
I don’t know what happened in your day or life to make you this irrationally angry at a perfect stranger but I feel bad for you. Later on today or this week you’re going to feel like a total jerk for treating another person this way for no good reason.
Like I said, I’ve only done it once and it was when a grown ass man who also drove a nice car was tearing apart some poor clerk at a kinkos. I was probably calm enough to publicly shame him because I wasn’t the one being berated. The best thing about it is you know they’ll not just think back about being an asshole but they’ll remember you telling them they’d think back and feel guilty. Now not only do they feel like jerks but you’ve also just laid a guilt trip time bomb to go off later that day.

This on the back of a suicide prevention hotline business card would be the ultimate passive aggressive ice burn
I’d love to see you say that to someone in a nice calm voice, but I can’t help but think that what would actually go down is you’d remove a part of the vehicle before flying the middle finger and riding the wrong way down a sidewalk just to fuck with them.
But I’m gonna try to memorize that sentence anyway.
Oh yeah I’m pretty bad at it. Also tough on the road because you have to like pull up to their window or something. When I pulled it off it was in a kinkos so I could just dress him down without him really being able to leave. I think the effect was heightened by my appearance as a dirty punk kid telling this grown ass man to act like a grown ass man.

That would have ruined my day, brohugs buddy.

Or maybe on a cardiologist’s business card.
Imagine being this dipshit, or one of his followers, in real life.
the sportsball goons already hate us so at least it can’t get that much worse?
yeah, there aren’t any recent examples of what happens when hateful goons rile each other up online or anything.
It’s nothing new but it is chilling. We’ve all been harassed on our bike. We all know that there are cyclists – friends, family members, just random people out there – who are dead because someone decided to act out their fantasies.
“It’s a joke.” But then, the joke that this guy just told is that my daughter’s father should be murdered. Her mother. Both of her grandpas. She, a three year old, is deserving of death in this joke. It’s just really upsetting to me that people make these jokes and don’t even consider how it makes them look. I guess that’s the point.
I fucking hate him. I truly, completely hate this man. And his fans.
A-1 douche for sure… but I’m 10x more worried about being taken out by some distracted or impaired driver.
Statistically you’re right. But maybe I’m inured to everyday inattentive shitheads. It’s the malevolence that renders me easily trolled by guys like that.
I just write them off as internet tough guys (maybe too easily, I don’t know). I think most of those trolls are actually self aware enough they don’t actually want to go beyond the fantasy due to how utterly inconvenient it will be to take their car to the body shop.
The politics thread has an illustrative example of one way this dude’s attitude could change. WorldStar.
Looks like he deleted it and got a twitter time-out
I haven’t been able to find the actual post in question but I’ve found most of those Barstool guys to be incredibly juvenile and obnoxious. Always disheartening to know that that’s entertainment to a large enough portion of the population.
