It never fails to amuse/further shake my faith in humanity that allycat videos are filled to the brim with clips of drivers who have to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting cyclists riding like jerkoffs. If it weren’t for the driver’s good reflexes, you’d have been hit by a car. How is that a thing to celebrate? Why does that make you cool in the slightest?

re: alleycats and brake-slamming drivers–i hate that shit too. i run hella reds and always have, and have plowed through traffic that by most objective, exterior measures i probably should not have. but my one rule of thumb has always been that if anyone has to hit their brakes to avoid hitting me, i’ve fucked up. i don’t give a shit how much or even if anyone follows the law, just don’t get in the way or create dangerous situations for yourself or others.
