Executive Assistant Jackass of the Day

Another PR coup for the cycling community.

lololol
agreed

whole thing bums me out.

it’s why more people need to race. so they have a safe venue for gettin’ their ya-ya’s out.

fuggin cat sixers getting their human nature on in the least safe way possible atmo

Sad that so many non-cyclists see it as proof of something larger than this one guy being a selfish, reckless POS. I don’t hear about a driver killing someone while driving recklessly and make snap judgements about drivers as a whole. Frustrating that the same logic is so rarely applied to bikes.

True that. A driver killing a pedestrian is hardly even news.

No shit. Fixie bro kills a pedestrian and it’s time to crack down on bikes, a speeding driver kills a whole family of four and shit happens

3 cyclists (including a child of 9) were killed by motorists this past weekend in the Bay Area, and one other cyclist was struck and seriously injured, yet the crackdown is going to fall on cyclists.

you didn’t happen to be riding in the city yesterday and get passed by a black ducati?
I saw someone wearing a canada jersey.

also I’d like to add, I’ve seen cars hitting each other a lot this week. Bad accident heading onto the 1, and two idiots hit each other on my street. Pedestrians regularly get hit as ppl blow through the stop sign, and yet the bicyclists are the assholes? I’ve seen cops blow the stop sign and almost hit people, too.

Wasn’t me, sadly. I didn’t ride yesterday because it was supposed to rain. :frowning:

A coworker was telling me that the same day that this shit happened, a ped was killed by an SUV and another was killed by a bus. But those happen 50-100 times a year in SF, so NBD.

This is bumming me out. I do tend to sprint for yellow lights sometimes. While I would never do it at a busy intersection I should probably just knock that shit off.

Go to 2:30 for the full effect. Neither was cyclist seriously hurt. Bummer they’ve got your license plate on video, cocksucker.

Also, as someone that rides this section of pavement like three times a week, I can attest to the sketch factor.

What in the actual fuck?

That had to be on purpose…?

The owner of the car (and likely the guy who hit the cyclists) was arrested yesterday. http://www.berkeleyside.com/2012/04/27/hit-and-run-driver-who-struck-two-cyclists-arrested/
Michael Patrick Medaglia, 43, of Oakland, was arrested at the Jack London Inn in Oakland late this afternoon after he attempted to shift blame for his crime by reporting that his vehicle had been stolen after Wednesday’s hit-and-run incident.

Medaglia was arrested for possession of heroin, felon in possession of ammunition, violation of probation, and felony hit-and-run, according to BPD. He was taken into custody without incident. Medaglia’s misdemeanor probation violation stems from an August 2010 case for a violation of PC 653(k), possession of a switchblade.
Lulz that he was arrested at the Jack London Inn. Shocking.

seems like “my car was stolen” is a popular defense.

also wow. i just rode there last night.

I have the same gloves as th cameraman, specialized deflect. Older model. Much better than newer model
