Who here has size 9.5 feet and needs winter boots? PM me your address.
I do and sent you a PM for details. My tolerance for cold may be inflated past what my body wishes to incur.
Tentatively claiming these unless someone else is in dire need or they by some odd chance are the road version.
Thank you beneficent ferg.
Rando is now the proud owner of some like new Sidi torture devices
I had the Minna which was an early model, they utterly failed after less than a year. The nylon sole in one broke in half, and the other one had spiderweb cracks surrounding the cleat.
I tried on their waterproof H20, it seemed sturdier but noticeably less walkable and harder to put on[/quote]
I have the waterproof DZRs. They are nice for commuting or whatever when it’s shitty out. They are NOT insulated and do not add warmth. Based on my experience with DZR I do not expect them to last, but I only wear them when I “need” them (not every day) so they should last a bit longer.
After all that talk about how he only needed assos wondersocks.

Lol, hush woman. I sent him a PM to see what they were and offered to let anyone else take them. My Winter (half mesh) mtb shoes and pedals are both worn to the point of being unsafe.
Using those Assos wündersöcks and some neoprene booties I’ve put in a lot of time. Was very exciting consistently being out in -40 F wearing next to nothing else but tights and an uninsulated wind shell. Granted it was only a couple hours at a time instead of being exposed for a day straight mountaineering in double boots and very warm everything.
This goes past “hard man” into “how are you not dead?” territory.
Dyin, training and acclimation work wonders.
I’ll be sure to post some thoughts on the Sidi torture devices, eventually.

I think rando might be some sort of Will Farrell character when it comes to units of measurement
I can believe -40F/C; when I lived in G-d’s Own Cesspool there was, like clockwork, one week a year where it got down to -40 and only budged up into the -30s in the late afternoon. And it’s not as if climate change has made the winter storms any less absurd on the flatter parts of the great plains.
Where does it get -40f that isn’t the dark side of the moon?
The upper Midwest; once you get out of the river valleys there’s nothing stopping the Alberta clippers from bringing arctic goodness down to the great plains
Yes, I went to school in Morris, MN. Temps get down to -20 at least one week a year and there is a wind that NEVER EVER STOPS.
Seriously… FUCK THAT.
Wind is the worst of all the various weather phenomenon, amirite?
the circumstances that create black ice are far worse I can assure you

I think it is time to stop feeding this place and encourage the rest of you to venture out safely to have your own wild adventures.
That’s the one thing you’re correcting?!
