Free Stuff For Other People to Have

Shipped. Turns out magazines don’t count as media mail! So I went to a different post office to ship my box of books.

You know he loves that photo because he saw that some trolley tourists were taking a photo of him

Could anyone use an older router/modem combo? $free.99 for pickup in 94597 or can ship your way:

  • TP-Link AC1750 C7 Router
  • Arris/Motorola SB6121 Modem

Could probably make use of the modem in Seattle, but happy to let it go to a home that needs the bundle.

:colbert:

I think @russ was recently asking about modems/routers in the Bay area.

Ah dang, I already got a thing.

I knew this would happen and my response is “but trolley sounds more fun and foppy”

I was looking for something until Sean scared me into continuing to rent from Xfinity. At least until I’m not working from home anymore.

Take it, get rid of the rental!

I’ve been on Comcast for years and have never rented from them. I’ve never had an issue with using my own equipment outside of the usual Comcast connection problems.

Local pickup 94597 or convince me it’s worth the effort to put together a mutant box to ship it in:

Thermaltake Core V21 micro atx/mini itx case. Includes hardware and extra case fans (big ass integrated front plus two top and one rear), missing one thumb screw (but there are two for each panel so yolo). One of these:

I also have a 430w EVGA 80 Plus white power supply, gigabyte GA-Z170N-Wifi mobo, and G Skill Ripjaws V 16gb DDR4-2400 ram, Intel i5-6500, and Hyper212 Evo cooler I could sell for pretty cheap if someone wanted most of a build.

Ohhhhh man I am sorely tempted.

Counterpoint: my usual Comcast connection problems went away when I started renting a modem from them

Countercounterpoint: when Comcast came to hook our house up (with us using our own equipment) the tech left an entire spool of comm cable behind
