rapid rise is more interesting indexed with trigger shifters. usually you are the most gassed when you’re seeking an easier gear, and in that case, one bop is one gear, and it’s an easy bop since you’re letting tension off. but there’s zero reason it wouldn’t work with any brand/pull appropriate shifter. just backwards.

That is 100% my take on rapid-rise. Awesome for XC racing. And defaults to an easy gear for poop-barn applications if your cable snaps. Not that I have ever seen that happen. Usually a trigger ratchet dies.
