so they want 45 bucks to ship a pair of cheap velocity rims, but 15 bucks to ship a pair of mavics. dammit. nice tactic there, fucking assholes.
that is all.

Probably because the Mavics are drop-shipped. Go ahead and order some, it’ll take a couple weeks to get 'em.
oh, that could make sense. but every other pair of rims still seems to cost less (to ship). i dunno. might just get the mavics and wait however long. 80 for a pair of ceramic MA4’s sound good?
$45 to ship? thats some bs

That’s God telling u that Deep Vs suck and dont buy em.
While we’re on the subject of companies doing fucked up shit… I ordered hubs from Iro. They’re both drilled incorrectly. The holes aren’t offset. I emailed them explaining them to this and that two separate shops have inspected them and determined that they are drilled incorrectly. They want me to ship the hubs back on my dime so that they can determine if its really an issue. Should I raise some more hell until they cover the return shipping (the email was actually super polite. no hell was raised) or just suck it up and pay for shipping even though I’m a broke college student?
That’s really unusual. I’ve only heard about Tony’s excellent customer service. I would email them again since they were at fault.

oh i know
i’m looking at fusions or aeroheads
I would arrange it with IRO that if the hubs really are bad, they will reimburse you for shipping. If the hubs are fine, then it’s on you.
toast, I love my Velocity Aeros (little different than Aeroheads I guess)
not to jack your thread, but how offset should the holes be. I checked on my Kilo’s wheels and the holes are like halfway in between.
I haven’t built up the front so maybe it is usable. There’s clearly more of a slant to the spoke through the front than the rear one, which is just straight across, but its still not halfway between.
I just looked at my IRO hubs and that’s what mine look like too. I didn’t build my wheels though, so I have no protips. But it can be done.
Weird. I assume both are the same drilling, right?
What specific issue did you have with the build because of the offset, or lack of it?
I couldn’t bring the wheel to tension. The trailing spokes would be really tight while the leading spokes were flexy and regardless of how much I tried they would not come to tension. Took it to two shops that build wheels and they both said the drilling was off. Both are 36h. Rear was built up 3 cross four separate times and the same problem every time. Tried different spoke lengths as well.
send them to me, i’ll build them. haha
send me munnies first
ninjas or space invaders?
I’ll put a pair of MA4’s on your doorstep hella cheap asap if you want.
Hit me up (they are used but have loads of life left)
send the wheels over, lady, rabbi will get that shit on lockdown!
