Gear Recommendations (old)

I bought a Flash 22 after going in to pick up a Flash 18.

Any recommendations for a low sensitivity or bike specific torque wrench that doesn’t cost park tool dollars?

The Ritchey one is fine.

I’ve always just used the tourqey. I think oooooooogens sent it to me when I bought a stem from him cuz he’s cool like that.

Lol I don’t recall that, I’m not that cool

But torquey is good if you’re not doing a whole range of torques

you’re right, it doesn’t cost park tool dollars. :colbert:

This Tekton wrench sounds alright.

The TorqKey is $23. That’s the one I was talking about.

I have liked all my tekton tools I got so far.

Many Tekton tools are literally identical to stuff from Harbor Freight, although I think this torque wrench in an exception. Tekton basically is the Harbor Freight of Amazon.

Anyway, just buy a $20 torque-key thing. Or else get something like this, for a little more, and add some versatility.

Thanks y’all

Pretty much so what, but this amazon review claims the park tool wrench comes from the same facility as the tekton,

I have that venzo wrench. It is the one performance uses as their store brand. It’s nice.

Cool, I’ll swoop one on the prime account.

A workstand.

I used to wrench hella back in my day and I’m inclined to get something that doesn’t suck… Mostly I don’t want one with flimsy footing.
kinda a park PCS-4 fan because I like the feet and the clamp. But maybe you can learn me better?

Feedback Sports stands are the only option permitted by Tarck.

pcs-4 is ok. we have a pcs-10 at home and i’d pay the extra money for it personally

i don’t have any experience with the feedback stuff so i don’t know if it’s really the shit or just some weird tarck cult status thing

I can vouch for the Feedback sprint stand being awesome, I love me some euro stands and this one is so much nicer than the Park version.

What?! I just basically gave away a Feedback Sprint stand because it was useless for 99 percent of the wrenching I do. Maybe if you’re a super roadie only it makes sense but fuck, I’ll take a clamp workstand any goddam day.

what a squat!

Yeah, these stands are pretty terrible. I don’t understand the appeal, unless you literally ONLY work on bikes with 700x25c wheels and caliper brakes.

I have this wall mount Park clamper arm lagged into a support column in my basement and it is 10,000% awesome. Go for a permanently stationary stand if you can atmo.
