Get a knobby tire

I had a conti trail king 2.2 on back, x king 2.4 in front. I would do both trail kings and 2-2.2 or nearabouts

But then again, are you gonna jan/ira the thing in <34 hours or are you going to take a “relaxing” 3-4 days?

I’ve raced the Trail King before, and it’s pretty aggressive. I was really interested in the X King actually. So why the Trail King front and rear, and what about the X-King on both ends?

How about some of those nearly-slick Euro XC tires? Everyone is selling those in 26" size for dirt cheap.

Edit - Something like this (which would cost me less than $10 per tire)

you definitely don’t need anything more than an X-King, and really a Race King is still overkill, especially at reasonable pressures

you’d have to be a real fatass for a true 2.2" to really be necessary, all the trendwhores on 29+ were really dorking it up

there ain’t nothing sharp out there, only a handful of rocks in turns descending Trout Creek, so you don’t need armored sidewalls unless they make tubeless possible

the Compass tires will be fine if you pack light and can ride a bike, you also have bigger/tougher options like Marathon Almotions and Voyageur Hypers

but the Thunder Burt comes in 26" too, and I think that’s a pretty fucking ideal tire

It’s the kind of loose stuff with incline you want the knobs for

I’m with Fred on thunder burt tho

tread ain’t gonna help you climb red sauce

that would work great, go tubeless if at all feasible

though if it snows on the southern half of the route you’d want something with sparser tread

the locals were adamant that it’s a real risk Memorial Day weekend, something Donnie roundly ignored

heh
you werent spinning out?

nope, you gotta stop using the tiny gears on your triple

and start actively balancing over the wheels

yes that frequently means getting low to go uphill

I had trouble in spots where your predecessors had cut trenches bobbling all over the road

Snowfall has been pretty light this year so far.

Some dudes are attempting an winter version, this weekend maybe? Sounds like a death march.

i just disagree with this. i mean i guess if you carry all the right things maybe you’ll be fine.
edit: and follow the correct trails

Specialized renegade sounds like it would fit the bill too.

for the cue sheet why not a knog-style cyst on the bars?

they do make them with amber LEDs…[/quote]

Def have an amber Knog cyst if anyone wants it

looking to get another set of bibs for the summer, looking to spend like 150 or less. Willing to go to 200 if it 100% worth it, but is there anything good at the lower pricepoint considering I already have a set of pro team bibs.

considering the assos neopro 7 at the 200 price level and the 10seedhero at the 125 price level

The Castelli stuff in the $125-175 range is pretty good. Their branded stuff is MUCH better than the custom stuff.

Check out Giordana FRC stuff too. I have one of their kits. Excellent fabric choices and cut. Top notch construction Not cheap though.

Haters gonna hate but the Specialized stuff is also rock solid for the price.

Craft is using some next level fabrics now. Their lightweight stuff is VERY lightweight if you’re into that sort of thing.

it is hard for me to want craft now that I don’t have 3point5.
braden you need any web shit done? I’ll trade you 3point5 for it.
i think that is the biggest problem of life post industry.
I can’t pony up that accessory money esp. because I don’t need a shop telling me what to buy

A lot of small up and coming companies popping up. Mostly in California. Get something with a lifetime repair warranty from somewhere you can easily have handle it and call it a day.

If not try Pactimo/bio racer/etc. top end custom places who do samples or sommat at lower prices.

name some names neckbro

also, do castelli chamois still fall out after about 3k miles?
