Pearl Izumi shoes seem way turdly to me, but the ones I’ve tried on have fit so poorly that I have never bought some.
Talk to me about spending $200 on some “winter” SPD mountain compatible shoes.
Not really winter shoes, but more waterproof shoes that I will wear 9 months out of the year here in Seattle. Don’t necessarily need tons of insulation, just waterproofness. I’ve had issues in the past with very cold toes, both from wet and from vents in the toebox. Have also had problems with the cold cleat/pedal creating a very cold almost-frostbitten spot on the sole of my feet.
I’ve got options for booties or street shoes and flats, not interested in rehashing those at this point.
Sidi Diablo GTX
Pearl Izumi x-Alp seek WRX
Pearl Izumi Barrier GTX
Northwave Celcius GTX
Mavic? Shimano? Louis Garneau? Alpinstars?
If any of y’all have tried these and found them to suck, please let me know before I waste some money.
those a 43, dougie?
there was a pair of those in 46 on pdx CL a while ago for like $25 “slightly used”
I have a pair of the specialized ones from a couple years back that I stupidly bought too small. They have like 25 miles on em.
Anyone interested? I think they’re 46.
Completely interested. The Defroster? Mountain, right? Actual waterproof? What size Sidi (or other shoe example?) do you normally wear?
