Fox Tahoe gloves can usually be had pretty cheaply (and they last forever). Not the most stylish gloves around, but if you want a glove with no padding, you could do a lot worse than these.
i’m looking for an unpadded no-velcro fingerless option that’s significantly cheaper than that
longevity isn’t necessarily helpful when they get lost so easily
really I want the fingerless equivalent of the MCR Ninja series
Giro something. Saw some the other day at REI.
Maybe I need to spend some time in the misfit toy aisles at Interbike to scope out cheap gloves…

been stoked on these Giro Siv gloves lately.
I was mirin’ these at a LBS the other day but the palm felt pretty stiff. Confirm/deny that it breaks in and softens up?
I feel like if Giro could just make a Siv or Hoxton with the elastic, Velcro-free wrist of a DND that would be my perfect glove and I’d buy 10+ pairs
Grio DND for me because highlighter blue.
I just ordered a pair of the Giro SIV and a pair of the Hoxtons.
Will report.

it’s definitely not as soft as a broken-in premium leather glove (for example, Giro’s LX model with the Pittards leather is by far softer), but does break in after a couple of rides and washes (the saddle soap seems to do a good job of this).

I think I have a pair of the zeros that I stretched out last year and stopped wearing. you’re welcome to them if I remember which parts bin they’re in…
Giro LTZII are pretty great if you don’t want any padding or velcro. They aren’t super durable, but you get excellent bar feel and grip.
If you dislike both palm padding and velcro closures AND you don’t need much of a snot pad, Giro’s LTZII is pretty great. Reasonably durable, kinda snug. Kinda curious about the SIV as well - definitely stylish, not sure about fit.
Got the SIV, have massive hands and the seams across the palms annoy the hell out of me. I’ve ridden them on all kinds of bars and they don’t see to fit right on any. Best gloves i’ve had were the Fox Dirtpaw, but that might be because they make a XXL glove.
Handup gloves are pretty nice. Simple design. No BS.
I’m also using the DNDs for daily riding, these ones. I just noticed yesterday that my pair I bought in the spring and have worn maybe ~25 times have a hole at the stitching, so I plan on making Giro send me a new pair.
Mountain biking gets Fox Digits.
I really like thin construction gloves like the original mechanix gloves, or whatever homedepot or a hardware store has on the rack.
they’re cheap ($15-20), durable, easily replaceable, synthetic leather palm, thin/no padding, available in TAF colors, etc.
i have these ones, they work great:
i must not be that picky about gloves. i have a set of mavic gloves with leather palms, no palm padding, foam back of hand that they don’t make any more. i like them. i also like the $18 mechanix breathable gloves with the velcro on underside. in fact, i can barely tell the difference. and i only wear gloves on mtb.

Sup, glove twinsie?
I had a pair of DND I used for mtb but slid out on some loose stuff once, put a hand down, and completely shredded the entire palm. Now I’m on the One Industries Vapor Glove. They’ve got a pretty generous cuff that comes down an inch or so past the wrist which I like plus no padding and a super thin, breathable upper. No issues with overheating and I’ve never felt like they lost grip on my ESI chunky’s.
Grail gloves are giving me all of it, and I’m warming up to the strapless cuff.
bought a set of fox rangers, we’ll see how they do.
