Hey, what's your Sundeal?

FYI it’s just a normal threaded headset and that cap is pretty loosely secured

but isn’t it a 1.125" threaded steerer with a 1" quill?

and the cups didn’t really look like EC34 either

It looks like something Giant was doing with front squish hybrids 10 years ago. 1-1/8” threaded with zs44 steel cups.

If this bike ever needs a new headset I’m throwing it in the trash.

I think you’re overlooking the possible dithering options…who’ll be first with a roller bearing?

Oh you’re def right but I’m not going any deeper than this photos for now

I might at some point tear the bike apart rebuild it all up dork proper. But not until I get a group for it at least.

How is this possible? Double thicc steerer walls?

Wait…is the quill itself actually 25.4mm diameter which is correct for a 1.125" threaded steerer?

Or are y’all saying it’s a 22.2mm dia quill that is typically compatible with a 1" threaded steerer?

Quill is actually 25.4mm, just measured it.

My mom has one of these monstrosities hanging on the wall of her garage. It has to weigh fifty pounds and there’s no way that a 77 year old lady can pull that off a wall hook. Needless to say, the Slime tube filled tires have been flat for many years.

Is this stem like 2cm higher than the minimum insertion mark?

Was for the photo, I pulled the stem when swapping bars yesterday and took picher before setting it back right

That said
I would really like to get the stem higher
Are there any really long 1 1/8" threadless adapters out there?

adaptor, then extender

The vo adapter is long.

Need a CF threadless adapter

try rotating the high-rise bars in the clamp first, I had my grips in the stratosphere

if you want to mess around with modern nerd bars you could put a Threadless LD stem on top of one of these https://www.amazon.com/PARTS-CONVERTER-ADAPTER-REDUCER-SINGLESPEED/dp/B00I9EXHEU or https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/brand-x-quill-adaptor-alloy/rp-prod6254

There’s also this Zoom jawn. Looks like not very extendy tho.

My tandem also has a 9/8 threaded fork and is a bit deficient in headtube/reach–

I’m using this Sunlite steel extender, it’s longer than most and plenty stiff. Distinctive feature is it can take both a threadless stem and/or another quill, so you can get crazy

I have it paired with one of these, the bonerest stem I’m aware of

THIS is the dithering I crave
