I tried to use various hardware store stuff to make a version of the HubBub adaptor Harris sells (to mount a Nexus twist-shifter to the end of a pair of road bars.) It didn’t work exactly right, but feel I’m getting closer.
My bamboo frame.

It’s not very tarck, but I take rear sks/esge p35 fenders and mod them for use as extra long honjo style front fenders, to eliminate the need for a mudflap. This involves cutting the fender down a bit, using the original end to get the curve right at the cut, fabbing up a fork crown mount thing from a little piece of steel, and riveting it on. I also melt the fenders a bit with a soldering iron and reshape them to make clearance for my brake caliper. I’m about to do this again, if anyone wants I can take a few pics of the process and post them up here. Here is the finished product (in front there)
damn, that looks good. take some pictures for sure!
Hey Mander, what frame is that?
It’s an old marinoni that I shaved because im a stupid noob. I am actually considering having it re-brazeoned as a form of atonement.
Fender mod how to coming when i get around to it.
Hey! Mander finally corrected his crazy seat angle!
Also, Yesterday I pressed the headset cups into my giant roommate’s giant Motobecane ss 29er with a bigass 5/8" bolt, a nut and six big washers. Worked like a charm!
There was a bike on fixed gear gallery with a lot of home machining. http://fixedgeargallery.com/2008/may/AdamYearsley.htm
i used to have one of those, using an old axle. thing did work pretty damn good too.
saw this at BF commuting section
What am I looking at? Is that a fender made out of an old tire?
