Hplusson rims?

Anyone know much about these rims? Their site isnt up yet.
I assume theyre gonna be way heavy but i dont know. I think they look nice. 42mm face. Ouch.

edit: found some more info.
580g each. Deep Vs are actually slightly heavier than that.
More infoz here. http://straightchain.blogspot.com/2008/ … alloy.html

they were on hipster nascar a couple of months ago. if they came in a 28 drilling, i’d consider getting a couple.

i like em enough

That bike looks like a well built up version of my bridgestone.

paul cranks, yuck

I’d like to build one up.

At 42mm, they’re actually aerodynamic. I’d hate to ride that on the street even if it looks cool as fuck because of how harsh it’d be (not really into how 30mm deep rims ride as it is), but that could make a killer race wheel for cheaper than carbon…

It doesnt seem like anyone in the states has them yet.

Maxxximum Veepz.

WAIT, nevermind, they dont come in lime green or pink.
WTF!!?

I looked up the british store that was selling them last thread. didn’t seem absurdly priced but they lacked drilling options for aero use and are a pretty shitty option for riding around on.

Im sure theyre just a cosmetic rim.
Not worse than deep vs im sure.

I’m totally going to get some and put Zipp decals on them.

good plan

…aaaand they’re already on Craigslist.

want.

These were posted like two months ago. Anyway, if they come tubular and in 32-hole, I’d probably snag a pair and replace my track wheels.

I’d guess that the North American “distribution point” is going to be EAI, in which case these should be hard to get and expensive.

this off of their website that doesnt really exist.

I think I already mentioned I want these. But I’ll say it again, I want em.

Right now fixed gear startups are mostly just releasing the same stuff, lugged steel frames and t-shirts and messenger bags. I’m hoping for more interesting stuff like this in the future.

edit - These would look awesome polished to a mirror finish and clear powdercoated.
