I HATE toe clips. Need some recomendations.

GR-9’s with mks steel clips and single leather straps.
done.
it just takes some getting used to, I had trouble for the first couple weeks but now I can roll into just about anything first try.

MKS GR9 pedals have a big tab that makes it hard NOT to put your foot in the toe clip. I love them.
Why do people use track pedals? I was under the impression those were used for wood-soled track shoes. I rode some once and they weren’t very comfortable at all.

For what it’s worth, I’ve seen pictures of shoes that were cut into by MKS Streams. I like my shoes too much to subject them to that. GR9’s look ideal.

Those cadence doubles look like a way to use quality leather straps for cheap. Last I checked they were like $38 for a pair, though, so I don’t know how good of a deal that works out to be in the end.
they’re so easy to make though. just go to goodwill, get an old leather belt from the women’s section (they tend to be wider for fashion) cut out two 4 inch strips and punch out 4 holes. bam.

You win at the internet.

Go clipless.
or just learn how to ride your bike.

What he said. Deal with it and learn how to track stand so you don’t have to get out of the clips.

Try those plastic mountain bike clips that have the two slots for the strap, because they’re so much wider at the top they make it easier for your shoe to get in without it getting caught on the strap. Plus you can run two single straps. Here’s a diagram:

Any links for where one could buy mtb type toe clips? I can only find them in black and that wouldn’t match my tarck setup

This is amazing, blicks. I love your illustrations.

(also dont say go clipless. already have look keos and sidis, which i love, for long rides.)
i can and do trackstand, but there are those special times when i need to dismount to, say, enter a pizza joint for a slice and a schlitz. when i leave and get back on the bike, i look like a fool trying to get my foot in there. not every time, but enough to frustrate me and do away with foot retention.

i havent perfected the no-hands trackstand yet, but when i do i guess i’ll have no excuse to not be in the saddle at all times.

moving on

thank you to blickblocks for the helpful hint and most excellent illustration.

Right.
I understand that you said that. I was just being a dick.

oh. i actually have a problem picking up on that on the internets most of the time. (seriously.) i’m all sorts of messed up!

wow, i wish actually doing that would look as good as the illustration. then i might consider liking those plastic crapo clips.

I do anything a yam tells me to do.

haha i’m actually trying out that setup right now

and since they’re plastic, if you wanna match your tarck setup,

Until they snap off

I think it’s funny that people ride pedals just because the word “track” is in the name.

How the shit do you snap them off?
:bear:

grinding on them ?
