I went for a ride today and here are some photos

Never before in my adult life have I wanted to steal a road sign so bad. I guess except for any sign that says ‘420’ ‘69’ or ‘butt’

I’m doing a big ride tomorrow, so just got out for a quick spin today. I saw an Instagram post about an alley where someone had set up their fence so that you could feed their chickens through it, so I headed over there.

glad to see feedback on this one, I quite liked the BT700 but definitely similar pain points!

79 when I got out of work yesterday, 40s and drizzly the next few, so I had to take advantage.

PYB and ride photos combined. Ancient crappy cell phone camera.

Also I just realized my Tarck bottle looks sexy on this bike.

Holy shit that second shot.

oh yeah I was gonna post about a bike ride

Did 8 miles short of a (non-Tarck) century last weekend, felt great for an early season (for here) ride, which was surprising in a good way! A buddy is trying to get up to riding 200ks and this was something of a shakedown for him. He is also a very regular cannabis consumer, and me and the other squad member are not. Well, long story short he gave us 20mg mints which kicked in pretty much right as we were rolling out and I got so zooted I couldn’t feel my damn face. 6 miles in we had to stop in a state park for like an hour while my other friend lay on the ground in the sun and tried to regain the ability to keep track of the passage of time. Was hilarious, A+ ride, definitely party pace. We were out for like 13.5 hours so got some night riding in too. Puttering around on farm roads under a starry night sky with some friends is a joy I missed more than I knew.

Got on this badly maintained rail trail for a few miles which we realized also was an access road for some of the wind turbines on the ridge, so of course we hung out underneath them for a spell. B I G G E

Last stop was at Wiscoy Falls right at sundown, 20mi to go!! #lightbro

Please remind me intermittently that when a sign says “rough trail” it means the trial is rough

I only went ~30 miles, average speed…13 mph grumble grumble

For those of you who are familiar with Minnewaska, I rode up there then I went around Awosting, which is definitely not suitable for a road or gravel bike

Sure it is. Just depends how little fun you want to have.

I can think of few places better suited for road/gravel bikes than minnewaska
