Rode to closed ranger station, had snacks, perfect ride.
Discovering new layers of snacks in dad’s basket bag is an exciting game!

Explored a section of backroads close to my house

Love the color of those frames
You’re gonna put the xtracycle kit on this bike, right?
Naw, it has a date with destiny on my old Hardrock.
I toodled around in the park yesterday, and i definitely found the part of the park that is exclusively “FOR MEN” if you know what i mean
Mt Victoria is 12mins ride from my house and scene of the 1997 Grundig World Cup. Cadel Evans first win I think. It was a brutal climbing course. I don’t ride there very often as I have better trails closer. I whipped over there in my lunch hour today. First ride at level 2.
I discovered one of these exclusive haunts on my regular commute. I got to wondering why there were always middle-aged dudes hanging around a particular car park near the river, while there were never any dudes around any other car parks. Turns out the strava segment is called "the beat"or somesuch, so someone had clearly already looked into it.
There’s a trailhead on the main river trail in town that always has some guys just hanging out when I ride by. Lots of well worn paths leading off the trail into brushy areas too. It’s always had an interesting vibe.
Well you’re less likely to get tics on the MUP
Ashland-Petersburg?
I haven’t checked to see if the new city / state budgets are still including it.
A young couple was parked up against a trailhead gate when I rode last night. Fully shined my lights into their car steering around the gate, trying not to clip the sideview mirror.
Anyway, folk need folk.
That’s like the entirety of the park in Brooklyn where I escape to do quasi-mountain biking. Hence the giant dildo photo a few weeks up.
The forest preserve that I go to used to be like that. A guy grabbed my crotch once while I was looking at some deer.
Now there’s a big fancy MUP through the thing and it’s all family friendly and shit.
Finally got down to the extensive network of trails in the river bottoms south of Minneapolis. It was very fun. I should have done this before, but:
My old bike would have been significantly less fun to ride
The last couple summers the whole area was under ten feet of water for most of the summer
Also found the first stone building built in Minnesota.
I ran over human feces in the park and just realized that I didn’t get all of it off my tire… because I can smell it from my couch. UUUUGUUGUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
