I'm gonna start a vintage MTB thread. Truckbros stay out.

My Schwinn Predator BMX had ovalized tubes at the head tube joints like that. I never bent it, no matter how many jumps I cased.

Yeah if I can find a nice Barracuda for decent monies locally, which shouldn’t be crazy difficult, I’ll definitely sell my rigid ss 29er and ride that as my every now and again, just for shits and giggles trail and sometimes bar bike.

Nishiki Alien on the local chopping block: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/2814346425.html

That purple Ringle cage alone will fetch you 80 bucks on the bay.

Coincidentally, I have one spare purple Ringle cage and one blue one, if anyone needs that finishing touch on their vintage mtb.

Speaking of TR and vintage mtb’s - I’ve got this in my stand right now.

The stem and nds dustcap are frozen in place due to years of neglect. I need to fight these out before I can do much else.

usually this term is no good, but here it’s okay.

There aren’t a lot of old mtbs I’d pay more than a couple hundred bucks for, but I think a Ritchey or an OG, Ritchey-made Fisher-Kelly would be on that list. They might be the entire list.

I manage a non-profit, used bike shop and this bike was donated. A few key parts were missing so after I get it stripped and cleaned up it will be sold - most likely on Ebay. I’d buy it for myself but it’s way too small.

What size is it? “Way too small” sounds like my size.

20" - which is the small size for these - I believe this is a '82 McKinley or Tamalpais model.

some recent FTW repairs

Holy shit.

Did dudes break their headtubes off, or did they wanna upgrade to some 1-1/8" action?

Just cracked.
