Not Brevet but yes to Forza rear. Now there’s a thing where you shouldn’t use CX-Rays for the right rear with their Forza rim. They recommend only D-Lite spokes for there. I mentioned that the wheels I had a problem with had DT Aero Comps which are similar in theory by being of a heavier gauge, it didn’t compute and they still told me to use D-Lites because that’s what their expert wheelbuilders in the UK told them to do.
FYI Kirk sold the Pacenti operation. I don’t know the ins and outs of that, but just keeping y’all informed.
Good for Kirk.
i ordered a 26" Rhynolite on Amazon. $30, free shipping. It came in one of the biggest boxes i’ve ever gotten that didnt have a bike in it.
Are the wider, tubeless neo open pros tarck approved? Their current sale price is mander approved for sure.
No.
god dammit i missed thinkpad chat
You wouldn’t have to twist my arm very much to get my horrified reaction to a test ride of a modern linux on an x220, but maybe not in the wheelbuilding thread.
x220s are so old that everything just works™ on any kernel compiled in the last decade
Humm wat welded tc 700c rim should I get in 2019 then? Double difficulty, i need rim brakes and for it to be cheap.
Dt 460? It’s not magically great but at about $40 a pop it’s not bad
DT R460 in pin way or it’s prettier brother the 411
Not welded and it’s more expensive now that my portal to eastern euroland is shut
Anyway thanks. What do folx dislike about the mavics?
Fwiw, I’m not super stoked on ther640s I built for my road bike.
Is welded that important? I use all kinds of rims and have never noticed the difference.
Edit: I don’t ride offroad, which seems to be where pinned rims die
I just had a pinned rim die prematurely imo from shenanigans at the seam. Sample size of 1 though
What didn’t you like mister uncle rudy?
And then you get to the user interface, which is still a duct-taped mess of clown noses and silly string. Slackware defaulting to a 40 column console on the thing was, um, unexpected.
my db470 (basically the same rim) dented pretty easily but straightened out just fine and didn’t go out of true much. builds easy, tubeless easy, shopbro cheap but says dt swiss.
also i might’ve been riding proper mtb trails and didn’t use much grace on a big old chunk of square ass rock on slick 32s…
I do really stupid shit on my 460’s. Built with wheel smith butted 2.0-1.7-2.0 and have never had to true them. I’m also 245 lbs.
32/3x. Retail is cheap. Shopbro price is even lower. Good rims. The welded DT’s are better but not 50 dollars per rim better.
