yes, and if you have a friendly Bosch dealer shop you can have them check the battery health for you.
Any vehicle/wheeled device in the hands of teenaged males has this issue though.
Yeah might as well give them the lower risk option I guess
These days it’s everyone. They’re teaching each other to be bad at riding bikes
I had to make a run to the liquor store to swap some kegs and saw a guy on a (likely stolen) Super 73. He was leaving 7eleven and the back end of this thing was so tweaked from some wreck that he looked like he was drifting across the road
I have time to talk about it!!! You never told me more. Hub drive it looks like?
We’re leaning gazelle at the moment, but I liked the acoustic dew
It’s a STEPS mid drive and it checks all your boxes. I think @Master_Stabby has one?
My closest shop sells Gazelle. They move quite a few of them.
I was shocked how fast people were riding the NYC e-citybikes. But even more surprising was I didn’t see a single bike crash or collision the whole time I was there.
my dew is acoustic but I do have a Benno ejoy and it’s fine.
Nuvinci is a perfect match for torque-sensing mid-drive
This is the one they had at the shop: Kona Dew HD Brown Electric Bike Hub Motor E-Bike
It’s confusing that they have a Dew HD and a Dew-E
I test rode a newest gen rohloff and a last gen xt back to back and the xt to me felt so much better. Maybe nuvinci is better but I dunno. I see that the motors literally have to be programmed to put out 10 less nm with igh hubs.
Speaking of these, I’ve been pondering trading my Crust for one of these to have a simple e-commuter in case anyone has Opinions on the eDew
I expect even “newest gen Rohloff” with a mid-drive would be awful, like the 7 to 8 shift is impossible and would eventually break the tiny actuator rod forever
where Nuvinci is “shift under full power whenever wherever”
the CVT combined with torque sensing can make the shifter feel like a pedal-assist cybernetic throttle — like if you’re keeping your effort and control constant through your feet, the shifter only adjusts how fast you go
I meant newest gen motor with a rohloff. I have no idea about rohloff generations. I actually did make it skip during the test ride while hammering up a hill. Wonder if I broke something lol. Your description of the nuvinci intrigues me.
it’s the hub that’s in the acoustic citi bikes
I came across these guys this morning. Supposed to be rated for ebike usage.
OEM only and there are like no reviews
These are pretty good but not as good as the copy suggests. Wide range and very robust but still doesn’t really shift under load even though they say it does.
