j-bar! j-bar!

Anyone used the Titec J-Bar?

I’m thinking about giving them a try on my commuter.

The aluminum copy of the Jones H-Bar?

Only heard good things

It’s not a copy- Jeff designed the J (and Titec H) for them to make.

Yeah, basically. I think Titec licensed the design from Jeff Jones.

It gets a lot of good press on the mtbr boards, mostly in the 29er SS crew, but also from a good number of long distance gravel grinder mountain freds.

I guess the width is great for leverage, the sweep gives your knees room when you’re standing on climbs, and the tops are a little like tri bars because of the stretched-out narrow grip. I think they require a longer stem because of the amount of rearward sweep but I’m not 100% sure.

I was tempted by them (which is why I can relate those specifics second-hand) but ultimately settled on the Ragley because I didn’t need the top position.

never used them but i know two people who use and love them.

A friend whose opinion I trust greatly rocked those bars from Vancouver to Venice Beach and loved the shit out of them.

I feel like they increase my probability of getting core sampled.

Plug dem ends

I like the J bar on my singlespeed.

I hate the Loop bar (similar to H bar) on my full-squish.

Go figure.

ugh.

Got a set of Paul Thumbies, and the J-Bar is en route. Once I figure out a suitable brake lever I’m going to convert my SOMA.
